All he's said is UK and OZ. That obviously hasn't come up yet officially.

WOOPS spoke too soon!

2018, Justin solo dates

Thanks to the denizens of TER for this. MBA is still sorting it out but they have up articles on the dates. I am reminded of a lot of places the early Moodies toured back in the very late 60s and early 70s. (For those who do their homework.) I suspect there will be more to come here.

23 April - 20:15 - Eindhoven, Netherlands - Muziekgebouw Fritz Philips

24 April - 19:45 - Utrecht, Netherlands - Tivoli Vredenburg

26 April - 20:00 - Randers, Denmark - Vaerket

27 April - 20:00 - Copenhagen, Denmark - Den Gra Hal

29 April - 20:00 - Groningen, Netherlands - De Oosterpoort

Is there something wrong with me for thinking if I take nine days off to go to Germany I will demonstrate to my employer that I am dispensable to the point of not having a job when I get back? Then, there's the part about blowing so much on airfare I have nothing left for shows. I could pay a shrink to help me figure it all out, but then I'd have nothing for airfare. Perhaps this is the chains of Hades.

Courage and imagination, I know.

It is pretty expensive to do Europe, yes. Not undertaken lightly. Update, stolen from other sources

Justin solo shows:

23 April - 20:15 - Eindhoven, Netherlands - Muziekgebouw Fritz Philips

24 April - 19:45 - Utrecht, Netherlands - Tivoli Vredenburg

26 April - 20:00 - Randers, Denmark - Vaerket

27 April - 20:00 - Copenhagen, Denmark - Den Gra Hal

29 April - 20:00 - Groningen, Netherlands - De Oosterpoort

30 April - 20:30 - Amsterdam. Netherlands - Paradiso Main Hall

05/03/18 Munchen (Munich), Germany

05/04/18 Frankfurt, Germany Old Opera

5 May - Berlin - Passionkirche - at 20 heur [I think it's "Church of the Passion" at 8 PM for a translation] I know I can't speak German worth beans, or I'd probably go. Berlin is said to be a very beautiful city and it's a good time of year to visit.

05/06/18 Stuttgart, Germany

05/07/18 Koln (Cologne), Germany, Theater am Tanzbrunnen. MARVELOUS town. I seem to remember taking a bullet train from Frankfurt airport to Koln, the train let out in a mall near the Dom which is a big ol' Gothic church. Watch where you park, we got a ticket with our rental. But Germany is nice to drive in, they use the right side of the road and the drivers are less crazy than English drivers IMHO.

05/09/18 Hamburg, Germany Laeiszhalle Hamburg / Kleiner Saal

05/10/18 Berlin, Germany (unknown if the same venue as May 5)

Funny. To show how little I speak German, I drove through Koln twice and didn't realize it was Cologne until you said so.

Me twy go sweepy-bye, now.

I'm still laughing about the German ladies I passed in the streets of Koln, dragging my luggage (worn out jet lagged) and they turned around and said "Vo ist der HUSBAND???" boy that came through loud and clear!!! LOL All the older gals there looked like my grandma, I felt very comfortable in Germany. Lovely people, bummer we got into a dust up with them lo these many years ago.

I don't recall any rudeness in Germany. I fit in in Italy, not to insult the good people, but we looked and acted like family.

I was looking at photos of the place Justin is going to play in Munchen. They were very beautiful, reminiscent of Interlochen. It would be lovely, but making that show would be a time crunch. Who gets a three-week vacation in April and May, anyway?

Why don't Justin shows sell out immediately? Just about everybody I know absolutely loves him.

No promotion. My brother just got laid off.... approaching 70 this year. Promoters don't pay attention if you're over 50, you gotta do all the promotion yourself.

Another update. Some small details change all the time. Like I say, if you go, do your homework.

Justin solo shows:

23 April - 20:15 - Eindhoven, Netherlands - Muziekgebouw Fritz Philips

24 April - 19:45 - Utrecht, Netherlands - Tivoli Vredenburg

26 April - 20:00 - Randers, Denmark - Vaerket

27 April - 20:00 - Copenhagen, Denmark - Den Gra Hal

29 April - 20:00 - Groningen, Netherlands - De Oosterpoort

30 April - 20:30 - Amsterdam. Netherlands - Paradiso Main Hall

05/03/18 Munchen (Munich), Germany

05/04/18 Frankfurt, Germany Old Opera (Alte Opera translates as this) -- I recommend for the aviation types, a town called Zeppenlinheim to the south of the airport, and their museum about the Hindenburg and the Graf Zeppelins. Very nice folks there, but we had a true language barrier. Folks with class.... lovely little suburb.

UPDATE TER now shows this date as "Frankfurt am Main" which is a different town (I'd have to look it up, but do your homework if you're headed to this show!!!), and it ALSO says "Mozart Salon" You'll have to find a copy of *Amadeus* to understand salons, but in Mozart's day, this was one way popular music got out to the public, at huge parties held by the elite, big open rooms with the musicians at one end, and the audience in chairs at the other. Very intimate sometimes. "Little Theatre" we used to call it.

5 May - Berlin - Passionkirche - at 20 heur I know I can't speak German worth beans, or I'd probably go. Berlin is said to be a very beautiful city and it's a good time of year to visit.RIGHT NOW TER IS SHOWING THIS DATE OPEN, AND THE SAME INFO APPLIES TO BERLIN ON THE 10TH.

05/06/18 Stuttgart, Germany Liederhalle (Mozart Salon)

05/07/18 Koln (Cologne), Germany, Theater am Tanzbrunnen. MARVELOUS town. I seem to remember taking a bullet train from Frankfurt airport to Koln, the train let out in a mall near the Dom which is a big ol' Gothic church. Watch where you park, we got a ticket with our rental. But Germany is nice to drive in, they use the right side of the road and the drivers are less crazy than English drivers IMHO.

05/09/18 Hamburg, Germany Laeiszhalle (salon) Kleiner Saal

05/10/18 Berlin, Germany (see May 5)

I can't believe he's singing five days straight. Are you sure? I thought he'd settled into a duty cycle of two on, one or two off.

Regardless, that would be an awesome vacation - except I'm full of excuses. Maybe I can persuade the boss to go on a cruise or something for three weeks. Oh, I don't know.

Gotta get back to work, work, work ...

Google translates:

"Justin wants to share that feeling of happiness with everyone at his concert in Groningen. On April 29, he would therefore like to come to De Oosterpoort."

Aw.

Here's a weird question: Why are Justin's Germany shows selling out in rows? It's like, "straight lines before my eyes."

I should have said, "available" instead of "selling out."

It's somewhat purgatorial not having the resources to do all these shows. On the bright side, more shows means more interviews. I like it when Justin talks to a good interviewer who lets his wit and wisdom shine. I get mesmerized, lost in a reverie of love and beauty - and then the interview ends. Marketers are into emotion; don't news outlets want articles that make people feel good about their websites? "More! More!" I say about interviews.
