More UK dates were added. I would recommend checking justin's site at

justinhayward.com

Also try ticketmaster.uk or ticketmaster.de

I got up early to rewatch the commissioners' meeting - to make sure I don't misquote and all. Instead, I went to Justin's web site. ... I just finished making a bunch of stuff in the kitchen, and as I did, I was singing:

I can't think of too many people who have animated hummingbirds, and all that was done by hand with pastels. What a marvelous movie. I wonder if I could order it on DVD from the UK, Disney blocked it forever from release in the USA, I own a bootleg.

I didn't know that, either. He didn't look like a slave; I didn't see a master anywhere. I admired his pleasant disposition.

I'm off topic again. I want to go everywhere Justin goes, and I may just buy so many tickets I have nothing left for airfare.

Geographically, Amsterdam kind of depresses me because it is so much like Michigan. I've wanted to go to Scandanavia for some time, but it's a tad early for a midnight sun. I thought Germany would still be chill in April/May, but then I started thinking of how dreamy it must be in Bavaria, meadows blossoming in snow melt. The venues for the last two dates have a lot of ambience for sure.

Then, there's England. It's been awhile. Merseyside sounded fun, but that is one of about five dates I must definitely not do. I see Justin is doing four in a row in England, so I guess I was wrong about his scheduling. His voice held up really well the last tour, I thought he had found his rhythm - but what do I know? When he's not performing for the public, he could be recording, doing private shows, or rehearsing. I fell into the pit of thinking the stage persona is all there is - like the lady in the very beautiful blue and purple coat who, outside Pine Knob back when I only went to local shows, told me the Moody Blues only came down from space to tour. I think she was serious.

That said, we've all gone some funky places to see Justin, and all the scariness manages to fade from memories: I'm now recalling the Frozen Tundra Tour, freezy weather in St. Augustine, the brawl in SJC, people yelling on the streets of Baltimore, the purse snatches in Princess Anne and Raleigh, the guy having a panic attack outside Woodlands, somebody passing out in front of another show, the swill of an atmosphere in Hamilton. Then, there were all those adventures that crack me up because of dreadful mistakes I made and the miracles of everything coming together, anyway; the sleep-deprivation of all the overnight driving following a week of losing sleep over working ahead. My only regrets are people I hurt along the way: the gas station attendant I yelled at after "holding it" forever in a Connecticut traffic jam, the friend with whom I got lost when I could no longer focus my eyes and was too sleepy to figure out how to get where we were going, the band when I so rudely acted out my temper tantrum in the front row, etc. That said, there's no such thing as a bad place to see Justin, is there?

Flights from LA are about half what it would cost me to buy a two- or three-day flight one way connecting through Istanbul; and about a third the cost of a one-day, politically-stable ticket.

What if I can't stay on-topic? Mercy? Please?

News You Can Lose:

Viagogo was advertising a 6pm and 8pm concert for Justin in Hamburg. Doors opened at the 6pm show, and the 8pm show was sold out. Then, better seats in the front row were available than were earlier over on TM. You can prowly still buy one of the thirteen remaining tickets for the phantom show; I didn't take any. Corrections requested.

It appears Ticketmaster et al are selling tickets for the Danish and German shows, but Justin's web site is not acknowledging them. What is the meaning of that?

Expedia is now offering me $159 airfare, roundtrip from Asheville to Australia. I need to work on my timing.

Ack (backing away slowly with my fingers crossed in front of me)

Simple things. Uncle Remus as portrayed in the movie was a valued member of a plantation run by a sweet little old lady, the grandmother of the main character the little boy. I could pick out a bunch of culturally bad stuff in there, but the story is Walt Disney himself asked that it be shelved forever in America, because it was a very painful movie for descendants of slaves to watch. I tend to agree with him. It's available on amazon,de if you want to monkey with regions and languages. It's a shame because the African American actors in there do VERY nice jobs (Uncle Remus has a marvelous voice) and I find parts of it extremely enjoyable.

I have no comments on travels to Europe, cheap or expensive. "It's a long long highway" and I have too many other things to do, than chase the will o' the wisp.

Thinking of Georgia in the spring and fireflies....

I thought it was a happy video. I don't know anything about the movie. I agree we shouldn't knowingly be offensive, but so many times I use ordinary English words I find are despicably offensive. I've never been swift with pop culture, so I can't keep up.

Oh, no. I don't chase swamp gas. It's fair to say, I believe I paid enough attention in Sunday school to learn love demands nothing in return. That said, Justin has given me more than I could ask already, through his beautiful music and the feeling I get at his shows. I get more out of life from that than anything else I do.

I love spring, any way, any how. In Michigan, around Easter, one would finally see grass coming through the snow. It was such a wonderful thing because it meant summer was on it's way. I assume spring is already well underway in Georgia, but the live cams are all black right now. If you want to share why you're going to Georgia, that's cool.

I've been thinking about fireflies, too; as in, "Say something good about winter: It's four months until firefly season."

I wonder if Justin and his merry band will be tooling around Europe in a wrapped van like they presumably did in New Zealand.

But you got to see it all live, right? It's a pretty setting. I love the colors. I'm wishing I would have gone.

Was that a limited-seating affair? Une affaire des billets cheres? How come you didn't get to go? I'd be a troubled monkey if I went to the effort to get on a boat and ride around without getting to see the solo Justin show.

When I went to buy the ticket, it kicked me out... either crashed site or my computer isn't up to snuff. What REALLY made me angry about the ticket sales, it told us "don't bother to try again" or something to that effect. So I figured they would call me or I was in line for the tickets.... whereas other people kept on trying and got tickets 15 min later. It was a very bad ticket sales site.

I was ok with it after I calmed down... I really went on the cruise to see their ports of call, not for the music although of course I made all the Moodies shows I could (slipped into BOTH concerts) but I liked a LOT a couple of the other artists too.

I got to see Mikey as he came out of the solo show, juggling his foot pedals and got his second album signed.... he was very kind, one of my cabin mates and I talked quite a bit with him.

It's not like I haven't seen enough Justin solo shows!!! LOL. I'm just grateful to those who took all the videos.

I forgot where we were, and thought you were going to Germany. Hey, everybody. Justin is playing in Germany and Denmark. Buy lots of tickets.

As you were saying, had you kept trying again and again, you may have gotten kicked off for 24 hours, as I did with the R&RHoF. Then again, you could be like me and have a bank whose algorithms cannot detect a pattern of me buying tickets to see Justin and/or the Moodies. I have to place an order, call the bank's fraud department, get it to clear, and then order again later. It gets rid of all that pre-sale anxiety, as it is a lost cause.

Or, things could have been like the last four days. I got very ill in the mind because the bank had a "glitch." I heard about it, but I thought the reversal of a double-charge was the reversal of a very important, high-ticket item. I was not a happy camper. But I still love my bank. They strive to uphold principles and stay out of political nonsense inasmuch as possible. Before their former president quit, they were a bastion of sanity in this strange world. I held off transferring my account to them long after I first admired their stalwart integrity (e.g., testifying before Congress about how injurious the push for sub-prime loans was for the so-called "beneficiaries" as well as the overall economy, for example) from afar, because I assumed I would be a liability to them. Then, I bolted for the protection a sane bank with integrity could offer. So, yeah. We had a blackout over the weekend, and things got messed up repopulating the databases, but I trust all will be well in a day or so.

Chuckle.

I was watching that Denny Laine interview, and learned a tidbit about the Moodies, he apparently met Mike and Ray over in Germany when they were all doing Cabaret. THAT is why Mike and Ray were having a beer and watching Denny Laine and the Diplomats play that night (in 1964) ... and walked up to Denny to say hi after the show. Makes sense!

Everyone gets their start in Germany, or did during the Brum Beat. I guess Justin is back to that level maybe. I know back in 1991 the Moodies did a tour through Germany and Justin wrote a letter to the OFC, saying they weren't getting much of a turn out. Graeme was just saying the Moodies were a lyric based band, and in Germany you have to have English speakers for that sort of music. A good portion of Germans DO speak English... sigh wish I felt the urge to go. Germany in the spring....
