I'd rather save my money for the Justin shows, but I sort of promised me mum I'd come see her. (Nod, nod, wink, wink.)

I was thinking about drums today, too. I like a good hard beat to get the blood moving sometimes; but when I wrote my own music, I was more into chording, like my new monk friends, and only messed with time signatures and all to conform. When playing, I prefer to hold ends of phrases until the waves end together kind of thing. I can dig how a group may want a drummer to keep them together, but then we have a joke at church when we need a substitute chorister: Just wave your arm, because nobody is looking at you, anyway. The worst is when a chorister tries to follow me. I try to follow the chorister, and so some people and I get into this horrific bogging down.

One day I'll get to Niagara... won't be this tour alas. Yes go see your mum. Did you mean choir director? Shucks that's easy. I sub sometimes for music where a director is needed, and I always ask for volunteers, the kids love doing it. I tried but you're right, no one watches.... no respect! ;)

I'm sorry. I've always called the one who leads music for the congregation the chorister. I'm such dweeb. Thanks for correcting me.

I don't know a thing about choir directors at church, you probably are right. I work with the schools around Kitsap, and have heard some really marvelous work being done.... South Kitsap High has a vocal teacher that makes choral blending sound like smooth Macadamia pudding... .very very lovely. Band and orchestra also are top notch here. I marvel every time I go in there. I love subbing for music because the kids are always serious about their music and they can tell I'm a music fanatic too. Respect among madmen you could say I guess. Olympic High has one class dedicated to just percussion and it's really really good too.

I wonder if Justin ever directs.... that would be interesting eh? Hair flying and baton waving....

OK back on topic! Sitting on the news about oct/nov like a poor mother hen waiting for tortoises to hatch.........

Can she scream/shriek loud enough past 10th row? (Yes, friends have told me about her banshee habit) OMG! One needs a $120 membership to sit in the first ten rows. Good luck to all.
