Yeah I'm not bound by any genre except "good music"........ but I prefer mellow rock and jazz. Heart and Bee Gees qualify as "mellow rock"......... heh I remember when "Staying Alive" came out, the airways were sorta taken over by Bee Gees. I was just in the Navy.......... having a good time I might add. Lots of dance time.
The cruise WAS a lot of fun, don't get me wrong. I just can think of other journeys I'd rather take, rather than repeat the same one again. Besides, while I like to swim, the friggin Caribbean has FAR too much salt in it!
Yeah I got lucky and saw the Justin show last cruise .... many people were skunked out of it. I wasn't at his feet either (some were, drooling, they sat there in line all day to do that, and I honor and respect their needs.........) but I got a wink or two even sitting far back, and that was good enough for me. He's quite a guy, that's for sure. Champagne was sure good too.
I would camp out. I get excitement at Justin's feet.
Listening to you, I get the music
Gazing at you, I get the heat
Following you, I climb the mountain
I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you, I see the millions
On you, I see the glory
From you, I get opinion
From you, I get the story
Listening to you, I get the music
Gazing at you, I get the heat
Following you, I climb the mountain
I get excitement at your feet
Oh, where were we. Oh, yes. what I would do for a wink, but two! Champagne is good, but I'm spinning out of control today. Too much imaginary Ha.
I think there's alcohol free champagne out there. This was not.
Back on topic THIS cruise, I'm mildly disturbed that none of the trackers show accurate data (according to the boat tracker, they're still north of Nassau, which they should not be) and none of the webcams are very accurate. I rely on the news and trust it, since no cruise liners are in distress, I assume they are just having too good a time to report back!!!
The cruises seriously are for 1) very young people who love booze and sun and 2) oldsters like me who think they like the stuff young people do. The Moodies do not wander the decks for encounters (Gordon does, but he's very nice and can protect himself, so does Alan). The other bands do and probably will get out and mingle.
Word on TER (It's such a lovely web site. I'd best leave it alone so as not to kill discussion there, too.) is that there is seasickness. So sorry. The Moodies didn't go to the VIP reception, and big fans couldn't get tickets to Justin's solo performance. I would not be a happy camper. My only purpose in going would be to see Justin, get warm, and see palm trees. I'd probably eat through the cabin walls at night thinking, "Somewhere on this crazy island a familiar stranger sleeps so far away." The partying would not distract me from knowing my big hero was only a boatslength away. Then, my mind shudders to wonder what's in being all cooped up for the celebrities.
I'm weird about pre-meditated pleasure. I prefer to whistle while I work. Moodies shows are my only exception, I think. I have a phobia about bacchanalian festivities. I followed my sister's lead in college and locked myself in the physics storage room Friday and Saturday night at college. It started after my roommates came back and started kissing me. That simply was not done in those days, and I WIGGED out. Something there is that horrifies me about people losing control of themselves. I know. I need to work on myself.
Otay. Back to happy thoughts. I hope the waters are tranquil, the boat is not lost, the band is happy and well, the fans are networking, the sun is warm, and everything is safe and placid. It is so frustratingly helpless to have an imaginary friend like this.
Indeed! I had just posted as much in my bottom feeder way

Hehehe I agree, I'd maybe eat through the walls too if I hadn't gotten the Justin solo last time. I'm still a little shocked I did considering the whining I heard over it. I usually do pretty good because often people try for more than one ticket, and single people get in quicker. I type fast too. A trick I've learned, is to have your credit card already typed out, and clip/paste it quickly, same for address, name and so forth. It cuts down on time.
I'll be interested to know how he arranged his solo, who he had for back up guitar. If Norda or Julie or Alan helped out, etc.
TER's report was ok, but they were sorta still whining over the cruise last year, and man that's WAY in the past.......... it's all been said and done. I don't know what the VIP thing is all about, other than you get access to all the booze you want at the receptions. Talk about out of control? Well not so much, out of control for me would have meant I decided to go swimming while the ship was underway. I'm really shocked I didn't get sick, I was swigging all sorts of different mixed drinks. Cathy Wood met me in the hall, and I still can't remember how I got into my room, I think I'd lost my key by then. Cathy said she was pretty looped too. I just remember babbling something incoherent "I'm not usually this wasted, sorry" and she just kept smiling.
It was sorta fun, but not THAT fun and nothing I need to repeat over and over. More power to those who wish to.
Yeah and likewise, that "turbulence" sounds pretty evil. SOOO ooo glad I wasn't along this time. I'd rather have a root canal than be motion sick. Blurgh.
Is it over, yet? Are they back safe and sound and no worse for the wear? Welcome back, everybody. I hope it wasn't as bad as the posts. It could have been worse. I was reading an article in an old "New Yorker" about a lady who took a trans-Atlantic trip on an ocean freighter. I was attracted to it because it had the word "tub" in the title, and it made me think, it's time for another tub of Ha! Glug, glug, gurgle, blub, blub, blub . . . . . .
I tried to catch the onomatopoeia off of "Deep," but it just sounded like somebody pouring a glass. It's dangerous when you use the earbuds stereophonically at work. Somebody might call. But does it ever sound pleasant, like a summer evening on the lakeshore in Clarkston thirty years ago, before everything turned so rotten.
Work to back.
OK here's some nice photos I robbed poor Krys of. She won't mind.... over here

*onomatopoeia off of "Deep," *
I like that!
Hope everyone is doing ok off the cruise. I was sick with a cold for a couple of weeks afterward.... not to mention burned horribly on my legs. I can still see that tan line a year later.
I'm not sure of this.......... still waiting for more info. I think Justin might have done "No Regrets" by Tom Rush. I can't find where I read the lines on FB and I'm tired and going to bed. I hope so much we get a boot or a line up of songs soon. I love Justin's choices............ last year at their story teller John acted like it was a pain for him to be there. Justin TRIED to get him involved with Buddy Holly songs, then did that "Livin' Doll" song which I REALLY enjoyed, I barely remember that. The era "R&B" the Moodies grew up in was a neat era, has sorta been mushed over by the following rock and roll era.

Jill found this article, pretty good one
Go over and look at all the solo clips. I haven't had time to look yet, I have wine exploding in my kitchen and really need to clean up (shudder)

I'm very proud of myself that I nailed one of Justin's solo songs... can't wait to hear his take on the song. He loves the whole album that came off, as per a past interview. Long ago. And it's a very good album too.
More later gotta dash
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later............. well the wine isn't done yet. Later on that.
Yeah, that was a Tom Rush song Justin did, or Rush might have gotten it from elsewhere. I *think* it's off the Tom Rush *Circle Game* album. If anything, it's sorta annoying, those giggling hyenas were on the videos again, and people were talking over it.
Fantastic clips, tho, eh? I hope Justin puts together his own little "line up" of songs and does those by himself, then mixes it up with Mike. This next solo tour might be really interesting, from what was in this solo sample.
Yes. Quite. I love the clarity of the vid and audio. I'm at work, but I put in both earbuds, and the sound was supernal. The guitar sounded so nice. OK, Jus didn't quite hit the high notes, but other than that it was perfection. He looks good in glasses, doesn't he? He looks good out of glasses, too. Yay, Justin. Thanks, luna. Hey, what was he doing breaking Marty Wilde's cardinal rule? Anybody wanna psychoanalyzed his choice of songs to a pulp? Please, no.
I need to go back to preparing taxes, except the amounts due grow every time I look at the returns.
He answered one of my questions. He answered one of my questions. I'm flat on my back. He answered . . .
I can't chase the OT stuff this morning I laid in bed too long thinking about things. Gotta get to work. in the meantime
Looks like ALL the outdoor Q&A. I haven't watched yet. Which question? (Of COURSE he listens, and sometimes even responds like a normal human!)
Tuesday was a Yorkie NOT a Chihuahua............. but a long hair Chihuahua looks so close to a Yorkie........ well yes I can tell the difference.... this is a big deal to some!!!!
