Thanks for the clarification, luna. My response is, "Oh, no!" Maybe Justin is sick again and that's why he wasn't wearing his contacts. Maybe he just wanted to show off how handsome he looks in his glasses. I dunno, but I hope for the best. It's no fun sitting at home during tours - 'tleast not for me.
Is he near- or far-sighted, anyway? Maybe he, maybe he, maybe he . . . .
NAW I washed that stinky seat cover... that and my Subways were the stink!
my links over on http://illaheematters.yuku.com.....nVreBAUPUc might help. I'm typing as fast as I can, and going down to store to drop off what film I took. Good heavens what a wreck it always is trying to get my life back. I did manage to work Friday, thank goodness, money flow bring it on!
I had a very very good time... best wishes to everyone at closing night tonight! And golf like you mean it, John and Gray!
and whatever you do, don't steal the posters or the tribal fuzz will kick you out of the casino!!!!
I made it to the last two shows and had a lovely time with friends. My plane flew into LAX on Friday, 30-45 minutes after the shooting had occurred. We sat in the plane for over 4 hours before we were allowed to enter an evacuated concourse where we were instructed to remain until the police cleared us to leave. We remained there over an hour with only one grill open and it was packed. By that time my phone battery had been depleted and I was thrilled to find a recharging station. I managed to contact the rental car agency, who assured me that they would hold the car for me and a couple of friends who had offered to help me as best they could to get to the show that evening. I saw no point in all of us having to undergo the ordeal and declined, but am eternally grateful for their thoughtfulness. Once we were cleared to leave the concourse, I made a beeline for baggage claim and ended up filing a missing luggage claim after the bags for several flights had been unloaded. Having done that, I decided to check the belt one last time and was delighted to find my missing bag, then made my way to the car rental shuttle section hoping that the officers had been correct about services resuming. They hadn't been. I chatted with some of the people waiting, was told they were waiting for a miracle to happen, meaning the resumption of service. Not being one to wait for miracles, I called the rental company to confirm there was no service and get walking directions. At that point, I opened up my bag trying to protect the privacy of it's contents as much as possible and chiding myself for not tucking a particular undergarment into a more discreet location. I pulled out a pair of flats, put my heels inside the bag and took off making my way through the crowds of people waiting for public transportation. During all of that time, I counted at least 3 ambulances with police escorts leave the premises with sirens sounding and lights flashing. To get to the rental car agency, I walked almost 2 miles with suitcase in tow and no stockings on. By the time I arrived, I had blisters on my feet and was drenched in perspiration. Finally got the car and left the premises at 4:56; 7 hours after I was supposed to pick it up. Streets were still blocked off and traffic in the area was extremely slow, but courteous. Finally made it to the venue and changed clothes in a public bathroom. As bad as all of that was, I was grateful that it hadn't been worse on many, many levels, and for a few that last observation was a reality, sadly. In the end, it was a lovely concert and from a technical standpoint very, very good. Everyone looked fabulous and sounded just as fabulous. The crowd was enthusiastic on many songs, stood (from front row to the back--or at least as far back as I could see) through entire songs. There was polite, but very subdued applause, for TOSOL; and certainly no wailing or gnashing of teeth either onstage, or off, at the lack of glowsticks. If that is your thing, so be it; if not, so be it. The performance of Gypsy was smoking hot, as usual. Nokia is a great venue and it was surprisingly easy to get in and out of, though parking cost $20. The next show at Agua had a totally different vibe and was absolutely delightful. Had a wonderful time chatting with friends before and after the show. Casino shows being what they are, means that some songs are often left out. That night, it was Gypsy and You and Me. Fans still managed to have a great time despite the fact that some songs were left out. And the band members were certainly having a good time on stage. TOSOL received a more enthusiastic reception from the crowd than the night before, and while it's never been one of my favorite songs, I can appreciate the effort that goes into performing it well; which it certainly was that night. There are so many songs that the band has to select from that, inevitibly some songs are going to have to be left out from time to time. It's rather selfish to expect that any one song must be played for personal reasons and it never ceases to amaze me at how many fans, over the years, that I have seen who badger the crew to convince the band to play a specific somg to the point that the crew throw up their hands and walk away shaking their heads; or outright demand it from band members who try to be polite, but firm. People are truly amazing, sometimes. And no, they will not play Legend of a Mind or Go Now on stage. I always find those 'requests' interesting. Sad to see the end of the tour for this year, but there is much to look forward to next year and I think we could all use a little R&R between now and then. Peace!
Thank you, Luna. The show reports are a bit abbreviated, I'm afraid, as I am not feeling up to par today. It is heartwarming to know that Moody fans have been kind enough to show concern and support regarding the 'hiccup' that I experienced on Friday, which was minor in comparison to what those directly involved went through. On a lighter note, it was so much fun to see Moody fans up on their feet throughout the songs at Nokia. When fans enjoy themselves and express it outwardly, I think the band tends to be more enthusiastic in their performance and that is just what they did at Nokia. Agua Caliente had heart and soul that wasn't as apparent at Nokia.
Thank you, MBD. As many of us know, attending concerts is only part of the experience. It's also the journey and fellow travelers/friends that make the experience complete. It was a pleasure to spend time with friends, make new friends and experience a surprise or two along the way. Definitely a memorable ending to a memorable tour.
One last thought on the final shows of the tour, SIWL has to be one of the most fun songs they played. I have rarely seen Justin so animated during a song and he appears to be having a great deal of fun while playing it. The rest of the band seem to enjoy it nearly as much as he does. I've always enjoyed the song, but it seems to have new life breathed into it as of late.
Justin was having a great time at the last show. Lots of guitar faces and knee thrusting happening. Was surprised to get SIWL for a casino show but happy that it got included because it has always been a favorite concert song of mine. All songs were performed with lots of enjoyment showing by all on stage.
OK got the Seattle photos up.... with the write up. Which has been up a while.

Yeah I know it's old stale news, but I work slowly, having a real life..... I'm finally starting to DE-program from being brainwashed [blink blink wink whack thump]
I can't tell if the photos are any good 'cause my eyes are really blurring. And I like to photograph other stuff than the Moodies.
more will follow at an equally slow snail's pace. I mixed up Eugene with Seattle, and it was very annoying.... Justin should color code his stage clothing to make it easy on us serial photography nutcases... honestly, what was he thinking, wearing the same shirt over and over???
Leslee, thankfully, most of my travel ordeals are not so dramatic. This year has been exceptional, though. With the incident in Amsterdam, performing CPR on a fellow passenger at JFK and the LAX experience, I'm a little relieved that I have no further plans to fly through the remainder of the year. Your idea is a good one, as I'm sure we all have stories to share.
Agree with MJ, Luna. You have some interesting angles in your photos. I find that if you sit further back, the background, lighting and sound give you quite a different experience (and photos). With SO many close up photos of the band out there, it becomes a challenge to come up with something unique. Well done.
Well read the write up. I just report what i saw, rehearsals ran long, and his voice while coming along, was fragile. He is a very very good singer to get through that tour intact. Yeah likewise I was very upset that night (Seattle) about him when I went home, it was a good show, but we gals do take our lead singer sorta personal THAT was the best photo too, all the others are also glum. It was a glum day. Seattle is sorta depressing when it's cloudy.
I figure there's something in the photos for everyone.... enjoy yourselves, just don't sell them on Ebay.

Late edit:
WHEW I just got finished with the Fall tour report, the part I did anyway. Straightened out a few things I wanted to clean up on my blogsite. NOW I can move on to other projects WHEW.... got up all the Vina Robles photos too. MAN that was a cold night.
Very few people are mentioned in the write up other than friends, but kindly read carefully prior to flying off the handle, all. Yes there's some gentle criticism. What am I hearing right now? "What Am I Doing Here?" by Justin Hayward.
That's what the war of love is for.
