Eh that was a long time ago. I'm much calmer over the whole fan thing now, it's just about the music. That's all. Yes he's a nice guy.

It is hard to believe one can be so blasé over Justin. I'm like:

He's just a guy. I'm sticking around now to see what sort of alien super powers he has that keep girls coming back to the shows for more and more and more.

I actually just want an excuse to travel.... I think.

Pah leeze.... did you see the movie that song goes with? It disturbed me and I've only see the uncut version once.

Play nice.

I hesitated because I remember blurbs about some phone call and somebody saying, "Please play Misty."

I spent a long time trying to find a song about obsession that wasn't total psycho. I chose this one because Ray Stevens did a happy, bluegrass version that used to whisk me away to the visions I saw out my bedroom window back in the '70s. Since Justin talks about his bedroom window, etc., I selected it on those grounds, trying to replace the brick which remains in my head with more spiritual feelings.

Anything I do can be taken as good or evil. Please don't think I intentionally go around trying to hurt people. I really and truly want to be nice, whether anybody believes it or not, and why should they? "Be woke," or "Smarten up," might be more applicable; but thanks.

Clint Eastwood was a DJ that a stalker was in love/lust/control freaky with, yes she kept calling him requesting "Misty".......... she finally caught up with him in person, and it was some very violent footage in spots, some is probably edited out for the television version. Ol' Clint took a bit of a drubbing in that movie.

Ann Wilson Joni Mitchell, and Carol King all wrote wonderful songs about obsession of men. I'll post one for you in a bit.

There are times I feel that obsession is a sort of adjustment allowing people to control uncontrollable feelings, especially obsession of love objects at a distance.

Hurt is relative. I think there are times Justin looks out at the crowd and feels a lot of pain from and for the people staring at him, yes. He seems a gentle soul for the most part. He KNOWS how his fans feel, all those years reading fan mail and on line posts (I think he reads a good deal when he wonders.) I think a lot of fans get caught up in THEIR feelings for HIM, and not in HIS feelings and concerns. I wish everyone would simply give him emotional space, and not be so anxious, and so eager. So overwhelming. It seems very impersonal at times.

Just about the only thing I'm obsessed on these days is the color turquoise.

And this one written by Carol King, love it. May possibly be one of my all time favorite songs, my eyes indeed get a bit misty.

I didn't want to select a song that implied I actually touched/held/dated/etc. Justin. That would be rude. (In Evo talk, which evolved by eliminating and consolidating consonants every time somebody told me my attempts to communicate with her were too complicated, the word is "woos," as in, "It vewy woos to bowk when fwend say hi." ) That Joni Mitchell song is difficult for me to follow. Isn't it weird how so many songs I search to find the right lyrics here may have one or two great phrases, but the rest of the lyrics bewilder. Moodies lyrics, on the other hand, can resonate all the way through. Perhaps it is an honesty in the lyrics that turns-on so many people. I've long believed honesty is often associated with intelligence. It is when [Leslee] thinks others are stupid enough to fall for whatever [Leslee's] trying to pull over that [Leslee] really looks dumb.

Ray Stevens' "Misty" is a great song, great pickin' and great steel guitar. I'm sorry the movie ruined it.

The last thing I want is for Justin to hurt on my behalf. Somebody tell Justin not to hurt for me. I could use some help with wardrobe, makeup, weight-loss, and hair; but that doesn't warrant pity. I get moody and play the fool, but I aspire to weller adjustment. I absolutely love and adore everything about Justin, but I consider that a good thing. I have no ambitions to slide down the chimney in a négligé thinking I'll wreck his marriage. That would be vewy, vewy, too woos. No, no. NO! I just love and adore him with all my heart.

I may be unconventional, but I have the best guardian angels who never cease to amaze me. For example, my last escapades chasing Justin around the proverbial countryside, were made without GPS and without cell phone. I even left some of my paper maps back at the office. Regardless, people showed up at the right time to give me directions if not take me to the venues. The places I've walked/run carrying my luggage have built some of the best memories - and I'd never have seen the beautiful sights or slid down the hillsides or whatever had I not been chasing Justin around the proverbial countryside. I can't wait to do it again, as the best part is basking in the aura of love and good vibes Justin creates. I'm so grateful for his little band that adds to the chemistry.

Interesting. I know that Joni Mitchell song so so well.... one of my brother's and my favorite albums of the late 60s early 70s. I tried to listen to a song you posted with some dude (good voice) and a mullet, and it was plastic about 11 bars into the song, so I stopped it.

We plainly have drastically different tastes. Plainly different generations. it's ok just interesting. Different tastes are what the world is all about.

Joni Mitchell was singing about Stephen Stills in her song (I think, she was very good friends with Crosby Stills Nash and Young) I'm fairly sure. She's one smart lady for sure.... I absolutely love everything she does, and still haven't found it all. Blues styles and so much more. I'm so saddened that she is confined to a wheel chair last I looked. What a great lady. Sometimes knowing the history enhances a song.

That Shirells song was a HUGE hit in the 60s, Motown. Carole King wrote it, and wrote so many other songs that were huge hits. I saw Carole King on a morning show once, and apparently that song is one of her favorites, she was explaining it, what it meant. BRB going for the lyrics. I feel that way so much, looking back on my own romantic wrecks. Naive and old fashioned I guess, but I never aspired to be a "free woman" it just turned out that way. Confused

The young lady singing lead in that video is so very beautiful and their harmonies are really angelic, seriously. Wonder what happened to the Shirrels.

Then gotta go to the baths and bed and a good book. Yes I'm feeling elderly too, with my routine.Cool

Tonight you're mine, completely
You give your love so sweetly
Tonight the light of love is in your eyes
But will you love me tomorrow

Is this a lasting treasure
Or just a moment's pleasure
Can I believe the magic in your sighs
Will you still love me tomorrow

Tonight with words unspoken
You say that I'm the only one
But will my heart be broken
When the night meets the morning sun

I'd like to know that your love
Is a love I can be sure of
So tell me now and I won't ask again
Will you still love me tomorrow

So tell me now and I won't ask again
Will you still love me tomorrow

Speaking of holding hands, Anne Wilson of Heart is going to be here in my hometown at the Admiral Theatre on July 7, so I guess she's out touring too. I don't plan to attend, I was not too excited by her song she sang at the Induction ceremony. Besides I like to blow all my money on Moody Blues. But her speech sure was dynamite.

I've heard the Shirelles' song a lot, but I never noticed the lyrics before. It's a nice song, but I don't think I could get away with using it to represent my obsession, because asking, "will you still love me," implies he does love me, and that kind of projection would surely have the little men in white coats adding to my long-as-your-arm list of diagnoses.

In other words, if I weren't such a düf, I would have so many more songs from which to choose. Confused

There are people in this world, with whom, even though you might be in one of the most physically intimate positions in the world, you'd still be in bed alone.

What is "obsession" ?

OK well this is cruel, but often I think fan girls WANT to be hurt..............Confused

Nah. I'm obsessed, but I think I've taken enough psychology courses to know it is not kind to kidnap somebody and/or try to make them love me.

The recordings that sound the most how I think angels would sound aren't available online. I've mentioned them both before. One was Mozart's "Requiem" performed by a 12-voice monk's choir. It was out of this world, so I guess that's why I can't find it. The other was John Taverner's "Missa Gloria tibi Trinitas" as performed by the choir at Oxford or Christchurch. I can't recall. All I know is the arrangements available online now sound like train wrecks. I can't stand the Tallis Scholars. I'm weird, but I prefer boys' voices catching the high notes in cathedrals - no warbles, no vibrato, just the notes.

I'm listening to sacred Renaissance music now and enjoying it.

ED NOTES: (1) I could have gone all day without making those negative comments.
(2) I need a handbook of style to update me on proper punctuation for classical music.

I remembered a song about obsession. I changed the words a little.

Every day, all the time, I'm staying crazy
I'm gonna let it faze me
I'm jetting my resistance
Wishing that blasted glass curtain would go away

Slowly, determined to take it slowly
Hoping it will throw me
Feeling every feeling
Staring at Justin

And if it's real, a heart will know
All the time
And come the spring, it will grow
Or die upon the vine
But if it's love, love will come
As far as the security detail, respectability, and health concerns allow
I do believe it now
Sometimes more is more

This time I'm going to stoke the fire
I'm going to walk the wire
Oh heart you've learned your lesson
Love is not obsession

Easy, I swear that I'll take it easy
And passion you won't deceive me
I'll hear the music playing
Hear the songbird saying

That if it's real, a heart will know
All the time
And come the spring, it will grow
Or die upon the vine
And when it's love, love will come
As far as the security detail, respectability, and health concerns allow
I do believe it now
Sometimes more is more

And if it's real, I will know
Know this time
And come the spring, it will grow
Or die upon the vine
And if it's love, love will come
As far as the security detail, respectability, and health concerns allow
I do believe it now
Sometimes more is more

Do you like it?

Besides, I think a lot of Justin's fans have more content than typical rock-star fans. I've spoken with many who have been moved by the music on a spiritual level and/or think he's an upstanding, chivalrous gentleman.

Always liked "Less is More"

Well he DOES get one stirred up, but you shouldn't worry about "obsession" so long as you keep yourself and all around you safe.

Sorry I'm not very chatty today. I've been in a "puttering" mode today out in the yard... very enjoyable. I so seldom just go in the yard and wander and just do what I wish to do.... yard is looking very good and will be even better once I get done tomorrow. Chain saw, tree lopper riding mower... it's all on the agenda tomorrow.
