I ordered it I couldn't stand it. Waiting for the hard copy to arrive, I'm not impatient enough to do Kindle, might need hard copy for research and I still haven't figured out how to do Kindle notes (absolutely impossible for research needs!!!) Will let you know.

HA indeed..........

Reading the reviews for the book......... I was put in mind of Heinlein's masterful scenario on humor in *Stranger in a Strange Land* it's about mid point in the novel, they're at the zoo watching monkeys; if you've read it you won't forget it.

Something to the effect of "Man laughs because he HAS to"...............

I came here signed out, not knowing the board read differently. I was wondering who was calling himself "Jokes and Laughter." Hey, we're kind of on topic. Gotta go!

Have the book *HA!* now. It's very good, indeed professional for me. As I suspected all along, laughter is an "adjustment" thing......... it might bore you unless you're into psychology stuff on a professional level. (some are some aren't)

I started thinking about "funny moments that shouldn't have been funny" in my life. One was when we were trapped in our barracks room, and one of our roomies was on the microphone in the watch office downstairs. She dialed us in on the intercom and started telling dead baby jokes in a very flat voice. It was horrible and we couldn't turn her off nor escape the room. We all ran around the room screaming "stop stop!!!" Another time the Blue Angels flew right by our window, peeking in I presume........... (truly)

Another was during the first time I saw Top Gun in the theatre. There is a scene between Kilmer and Maverick...... in the sauna. Right between them was my squadron's old POD said "Have a Bandit Day". I fell to the floor in hysterics (huge inside joke at our squadron), and some people in the packed movie house looked over the seat in concern. Such a serious scene too.......... huge huge joke at Miramar. One of the directors had a very warped sense of humor.

sorry I digress.......... time for work!

I was laughing about something very, very funny in a dream last night. I don't remember what it was, but I remember wondering if it would be funny when I woke up and thinking, "Oh, yes. This is really funny, as opposed to dream funny."4

Hey BTW nice to see you pop up Sphinx. I ran across a book I bought and forgot the other day......... *The Sphinx at Dawn* wonder if you've read it? By Madeline L'Engle. Quite profound.

HEY Sphinx here I am! In lovely Los Angeles..................... Justin was pretty happy tonight, he got to doing the boogie dance once. Many couldn't see what I could see.... there was some gal with a huge Ipad grinding away.... gosh I've forgotten which song now. But I think Justin was doing his dance and deliberately staying behind the mike stand to mess up her shot.

I may be wrong of course. Anyway it struck me as really funny, and then Justin started laughing too, and several were really hooting and hollering. Will be interesting to see if that video pops up on line.

Did anybody hear the segment on "The Five" about what celebrities think about Flash'n'Dashes and Scoot'n'Shoots? I thought the Moodies were unique in charging a lot to shove people through a hole. I was thinking maybe we could do some teamwork - like Team Richmond and Team Orlando. We see who can get everybody processed the fastest, and the winners get what? Maybe we can let them keep their ticket stubs, or maybe they get a certificate saying, "Justin hereby promises not to look like he thinks you're nasty in your next photo op."

Oh, well. That is what we get for objectifying people and not being friendly neighbors. My bad.

Now Now............

you had the wrong objective if you paid ALL that money for the grand photography moment. I bought the ticket to have a good seat!!! (OH BOY did I!!! thank you someone!)

I just went through the motions so everyone would be happy with that photo moment. I should have asked if they would all stick their tongues out or something. Next time if there IS a next time maybe I will. Mike and Julie were real robots and held still. Udo was cool enough to take two photos of me each night (maybe he did with everyone, I don't know, probably), and Justin and I are both changing expressions, it's a bit fun to analyze (nothing serious of course). Justin's mind is in constant motion.

I wish I could find that clip from "The Five,' where they were saying how celebrities hate fan photo ops. They make people pay to see them, and then if you look at their faces in the pictures, you see they really don't want to be there. Bob Beckel said the only celebrity he would pay to see would be Elvis.

Still, it feels good to my demented mind to get close to Justin. I seriously don't think anybody wants an autograph. They just want to talk to their hero because they like him. In the old days, before technology, we could talk to people and tell each other to go away if we wanted. Now, we get unilateral, virtual relationships wherein one person thinks they know something about the other, for better or worse. Being human, they wish to communicate, but due to security threats, their interaction is compressed into a controlled three seconds, which they are doomed to botch. The celebrities see all the otherwise normal people screaming for an autograph or a photo or whatever they can do for three seconds of attention, and the obvious conclusion is we are all monkeys in a circus - but not theirs, citing luna.

In the end, I hate being a fan, but that's what I get for lacking ambition and being tossed about by the wind.

What were we talking about? Oh, MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Hmmmm nice call on Beckel's part. Ditto here. Justin is to me as Elvis is to Beckel. Beckel does have his moments, I always liked the Five when I still had cable.

I think the whole process was handled correctly. I sorta lined up for the conga with the "I'm going to get my money's worth" attitude. I do thank the band very much for holding still and smiling with me, it was kind of them to play the wax statue for a few moments. But they didn't need to do it, I was only after the good seat.

I have NO desire to interact with Justin where others can see me. Whatever I have to say to Justin is personal. People gossip, I want in no way to be targeted by simply chatting with Justin, and I'm still trying to control my retching reflex over all of it.

[Confused]

Hehehe they weren't Borgs. I can smell THEM coming a mile away.Laugh I suspect everyone in the conga line feels exactly the way I feel, and I'm glad everyone got the chance.

I will not allow the joke thread to be hijacked. I have jokes all sorts of jokes........... most of them in very bad taste.

I'm so tempted to tell a bad joke about Micky and Minnie Mouse. I shall. You will just have to put up with it. They were getting a divorce. Micky was mystified, and Minnie was in tears. Upon query, Minnie finally told the judge "He said I was running around on him!!!" BOO HOOOOOO............... sob weep

"No I didn't" said Micky, finally getting the gist of the situation. "I said you were {bleep}ing goofy!!!!!"

Let this be a lesson to everyone on the subject of good communications.
