I never understood that song. When I was little, I thought they were making fun of Jewish people. Putting somebody under one's skin made me think of putting bamboo under the fingernails. Maybe on a day that is not as trainwrecked as this, I will recall a song of pure love - even though that's what I hear in every song by you-know-who, except for maybe 3 or 4.
See? You want answers. Sometimes there ARE no answers, and God is testing us to see what our reactions are to problems with no solution.
"Jude" started out as "Jules" who was Julian Lennon, John's oldest son. Paul McCartney wrote it for John and his family.
Angels dance, and are pure love..... we all have our own visions of Heaven.... Happiness is much preferable to me right now. When handed lemons.... make Lemonade. When the wind blows, some cry foul, but others make windmills.
How about this one? It is one of those songs, "Reminiscing" by the Little River Band was another, that felt like I'd heard it before the first time I consciously heard it. Borrowing from Steely Dan, like Justin's eyes, I love it, too:
This one tells of a well-adjusted love.
The Bing and Grace song kept playing in my head with this thread. Pulling up the video, I was very impressed by their high-quality singing. As for the choreography, it teaches us that if to many people, running your finger on somebody's nose is true love, then maybe true romantic love is whatever works between two people. That may be why the "mind your own business" protections evolved; love will almost always look stupid to outside analysts. Right or wrong?
I don't care for Foolish Love... except the melody, which is dynamite. A Foolish Love is something trying to come out from under a heavy load of denial IMHO. A love that works, is what you want, is what makes you happy, is deep in your soul, is a smart love, a wise love, a profound love, a joyful and respectful love, no foolishness about it. Putting icing on a bad cake doesn't make it a good cake. It's still bad down under the sugarcoating.
IMHO.
