Picking up the HBA's yesterday, I also picked up the mail. I received your envelope, luna, but it may be awhile before I get to it. I was reading from Fagen's book in the ER yesterday. I had gotten it hoping he would mess with my mind in ways unforeseen. I think he is. It's a perfectly normal book so far, so I'm wondering what the catch is. Either that, or it's one of those things that messes with normal minds and sets messed-up minds straight. He does, however, express himself as one of those people who can discern milliseconds of nuance, not just in vibrational frequencies.

Oh please read it! It's only 10 pages!!! the rest is fluff. And there's a SASE in it!

Having said that, I have three publications in cue, that's just one. Maybe I should work on the others for a while Confused

I'll try to work it in in the next couple of days. The CAFR comes first - for the people, you know.

Did you see Justin posted some New Year's resolutions? Go over to the Justin category, and down through the thread with "articles" the most recent post.

He's busy improving his sound, as you might expect ;) gilding the lily.........

Is that Justin? I thought he only posted on his web page or here officially. I won't obsess over those posts unless he says they're his. The post on the pickups sounded like he didn't know anything about music, and I'm surprised he doesn't even know how to spell Squier guitars. He's good at English, remember? So why all that German capitalization? I smell a fish, but it may be because I was swimming in the big aquarium at the Asiana.

It seems like Justin to me, and remember, things DO change.... Justin is no paragon of spelling, he probably has someone proof them. Why else would they get posted? Nothing else makes sense.

Justin is, too, a paragon of spelling, punctuation, and proper English syntax. I have, however, had my share of editors who trounce all over my once perfect prose. I've read enough Justin through the years, I should be able to recognize his style - which is not to say I should recognize him under the influence of milk and cookies and working through a new, ESL secretary with a case of the pick-ups. If this is Justin, I'll wrap both my legs around my neck and put my feet in my mouth. OK. Maybe just the toes.

IMHO style changes..... and yes Justin is as flawed as the rest of us, once one of his letters was posted to the webs by mistake, all bad spelling etc (typical guy spelling) and it was corrected in a day.... obviously someone was half asleep when they posted.

The subject matter seems pure Justin. Maybe he has someone editing for him, but the core seems to be Justin. No one else would obsess on the woody sound of an instrument! ;) But skepticism is healthy, and I hope Justin clears it up eventually, you aren't the only one wondering.

Maybe he's using Dragonspeak these days?

Oh, no. Justin is not nearly so flawed as I.

One time our master's degree in English mayor answered a candidate questionnaire. Bernard was out of town, and I was probably just getting back from a Moodies junket. We were communicating electronically before that was all hip. I went to the printers' and intercepted the data from Bernard. I was editing it so as not to make her look like a total dope. The lady at the print shop was eager to go home, as it was time to close. She kept demanding I print the illiterate answers as-is. Well, I cleaned up her act, and a good guy lost to her in the election.

Lots of folks care about a woody sound of an instrument. I'm thinking about Boris Dommenget or makers of Stradivaria. That bit on pickups sounded like he didn't know anything about anything and was just playing around with information from the public domain.

But there's no reason for someone to fake it, other than for pure mischief. There's no ad, no profit, no glory, no dude trying to get dates (the usual reason guys fake being Justin on line) ..... it's just Justin talking. Naturally I have no proof, just a gut feeling. Sometimes our "gut feeling" can mislead of course. You know, where's the motivation for such an elaborate hoax?

I do think the posts tend to be pretty blanc mange if that's what you're trying to say. Not so technical. Writing for a broader audience.

I don't know why people refuse to attribute normal human qualities to Justin. I asked in fun once, one of my pen pals if she thought Justin got out and heaved his own horse manure (he still had his horses then). She thought Justin was gorgeous etc etc............... and was horrified to think he might get dirty mucking about in a stall somewhere. After the weekend I spent cleaning up after my big dog, I assure you, you don't own large animals, and never touch poop.

Justin is a human, flawed as we all are. Let's let him be one.

Of course Justin shoveled his horse manure. He fed his horsies hay on TV.

It would be scary if I could understand everybody's motives - of course, I would never let on that I had that superpower. Stranger would be Justin's motives for having an unedited stealth web site with faulty frames after saying he does not sanction as authentic anything that does not go through his or this site. People cyber-clone all the time. I try not to understand mischief, as it would only further damage my brain.

I say it is a fake until the real Justin officially proclaims otherwise. (And how will I prove that?) That is my final answer.

Kay oh I dig it.

Funny, I do go through life wondering about motivations. Constantly in the back of my brain there's this detective dude watching and taking notes on the things people do say and so forth. It's my job to know why people do what they do. Managers do it too. I just don't talk about all of it because it would be impolite and intrusive.

You're right let's let Justin speak forth......... Cool yeah you know that's gonna happen. He enjoys watching us squirm.

I have no reason to squirm, unless I harbor a glimmer of hope the site is truly-ooly his, and the posts contain love messages in code - for MEEEEEEEEE.

I cannot presume to discern intent, as everything around and inside me is too surrealistically DaDaist right now. The most I can do is give people a benefit of a doubt and opportunity to do right. More realistically, I sit here awaiting commands. The end. When I get some hours off, I go around breaking things and making people mad. I emailed me mum requesting a Strange Change Machine - like we used to have that compacted the plastic monsters into things that looked like Starbursts. We could put me in, crunch me down, and see if I would come out right this time.

I thought my big, fat crush on Justin felt right. Maybe I should be using it to bake cookies instead of rushing headlong into bald security guards all the time. Ya think? I do have good taste in music and style, though. I'm really burnt out, but I never forgot Justin da man!

Otay. I do need help with my starter. I should have made all kinds of discoveries in electronics and invented all kinds of musical devices by now. Could you start with the pages on ignition?

BTW, I'm sure the manual went the way of all the others. Left in the car, rained upon, shredded and kicked on the floor by the boss' dog. I prefer hacking to reading, anyway. It's so explosive.

What were we talking about? Oh, yeah. We pounded that into the ground.

I'm changing my diet. Good resolution I hope. I don't know, so many things in my life I'm trying to improve, where does one start?

But, we are all where we are at, right now. Once in a while I hear people say "Baby Steps" which means, just a little bit at a time, and it will get done eventually. I tell kids that in the class too. Solve a little of the problem, then take another look at it. Or skip the hard parts, and come back when your brain is warmed up.

It's remarkable how soon youngsters will fall into the "learned helplessness" pattern......... they hit a problem on a paper they can't do, and will stare at it for an hour..... instead of skipping it, and doing what you CAN do.

Life is one big test. Go for the points, and then come back to the tough parts if you have time. Don't get bogged down in the trivia.

I need an overhaul for reasons I am not going to post here. The problem is, if I drop the ball on this job, some poor sucker is going to be going through what I am. I am a firm believer that 'The curse causeless shall not come." I created my own Hades on earth.

Most of us DO create our own problems. The trick is to see them coming and work around them. There are ALWAYS options.

Back on topic, I didn't make any New Year's Resolutions. I usually don't. I make and break resolutions every day. It's a bad character flaw. Did you hear Greg Gutfeld's? He was going to be less sexy, bathe less, wear stinkier clothes - I've been doing that the last two years. I told my friend Maggie I could start going to the Hari Krishna church, and Mr. Stalker would start going there, too.

Then, I think of poor Justin with me going to all those concerts and creeping him out, and I'm just like my stalker. I can't get enough of Justin - but he's beautiful, talented, inspiring - and I'm in the audience, heavily guarded by security, or backstage with Udo to remind me to behave. Yes, Udo really tells me that. I wish he wouldn't. Wink

Ah that does sound very Udo. I'd love to talk to him someday as a human, I have the Wolf family in my tree. German culture is all about behaving.

Well, then don't go out of your way to creep people out. I mean look at the stalker you attracted. Change. "When any situation is insurmountable, change some factor and see what happens" Heinlein wrote that.... the character stuck bubble gum in the door of an alien spacecraft (they had been kidnapped by aliens) and they were able to get the door open. Good story.

Anyway yes I followed Gutfeld over the holidays, I've always enjoyed the Five. Did you see the marvelous sweater he got??? He wore it one day. I LOVED it.

I think Justin cares about exactly two things 1) making good music and I hope he keeps it up 2) getting on stage and soaking up the adulation. We all get our jollies in one way or another. He feels safe up there, and it builds his confidence. You and I are but two little pebbles in the great sea of his fans. That's all. Confused

One of my resolutions (doesn't have to be for New Year) is to not blow my money chasing Justin around the world and country, and to invest in my retirement instead. Yes Justin and his music, is central to my happiness (like the rest of the adulating crowd), but I'll have to wait until it's more reasonable to go see a show. Enjoy YOUR journey and enjoy the shows. Don't waste energy pulling a "Gutfeld"............
