I lost the thread wherein I was waxing political, but here is some elaboration on my positions:

I wish we could all just sing and dance and feel happy about life.... I've talked to Koreans, and they really want to unify and live in peace. Unfortunately people with mental problems have the microphone in the northern part of their peninsula. Not sure our country has business doing anything about it, other than to keep the missiles from landing on ME personally here in Seattle.

Maybe that nutty dictator in N. Korea is firing with blanks.... Wink

Only insane people attack large countries. Case in point, everyone figured out Hitler lost his mind when he continued his campaign against the USSR, Stalingrad and all that. The clowns trying to attack the US are showing their stupidity. History does not indicate an outcome in their favor.

I've been following current events.... clarity continues to be given to this concept of "bully behavior" ..... now it seems a group called "Antifas" (stands for anti Fascism) is threatening again to cause riots in Berkeley if a certain speaker is not allowed to speak. In response, the powers that be at UC Berkeley (supposedly one of the premier universities in California, not cheap to go there either) cancelled the speaker due to safety concerns. While the speaker is not my hero and has put out her own share of annoying commentary, the ACLU is actually backing her right to speak without harassment. No one is forcing students to attend... I don't know what the problem is. First Amendment, duh.

Bullying can be verbal or physical. (here's a pretty good write up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullying)

In our PC world, we are falling into a trap. Strong Type A, self-assured personalities are NOT bullies. There is a difference. Bullys come in all shapes and sizes, male, female, and most insideously passive aggressive (a good example of this is a spouse refuses to talk until they get what they want, or who claim a spouse hurt them, when in a drunken state, they crashed their head into a wall and gave themselves a concussion) We see it out of certain religious and political groups, especially those with no brains and a lot of weapons.

Bullying is thuggery. We should not put up with it ANYWHERE. On this newsite, in our streets, from hijackers, terrorists, rouge nations. Spirited, rational respectful debates should always be ok. Just whining, screaming and crying until you get your own way, lying, creating crisis where there IS none, attacking people for no visible reason ... they are all the tools of the bully. (Critique is not an attack... it's rational debate)

Bullying and communicating threats is illegal in many places. In the words of some young people I just talked to "If you take their masks off [speaking of the Antifas group] they turn out to be little timid creepy people who don't have their stuff together." The mask empowers them,.

The Internet is a mask. BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT. There are NO masks in the "core" Moody fan base. We all know who each other is. I wear no mask. Those who do.... don't fool yourselves. You are known. So stop the bully behavior, and act like adults. It's gonna continue to blow back on you until you grow up.

It would help if you spelled out what exactly I am doing that is bullying. Seriously. I am dense. I guess that's why there are bullies in the world. Some of us think we're just being funny, and we aren't. OK. I'll try this. I'll only post super-sweet stuff for awhile, but seriously, since I'm the only one posting here besides you, I'm sure it's me that is mean. After all, I'm the only one that gets the Udo detail. My feelings won't be hurt, but I'll be forever grateful if anybody in the fan base could help. I really don't want to be a monster.

You are not a bully. You are not a monster. I would let you know if you were.

I'm a monster of egoism, but then again I've been reading too much Ayn Rand. Laugh

Thought I'd mention in passing Rand Paul getting attacked on his front lawn by a neighbor who "lost it"................. you know I have neighbors who make me angry, their dog poos on my lawn or something equally dastardly. I put up with their noisy parties, and with the leaves of their overgrown maples clogging my rain gutters. Their crummy pound puppies bellowing at me when I set foot in my own yard and try to enjoy my landscaping.

But to tackle a guy and break ribs??? That's what's wrong with our world. People go over the top in their disputes. Aggressive negotiations. Can't we all just get along??

They say domestic disputes are some of the worst, police dread going out on these calls. I'm thinking of putting up a second fence, one you can't see through... that way I won't have to put up with any of the nuts!!!! I can just hide in my my house and never go out....

Rand Paul does not seem the kind of guy to put up with an annoying neighbor.

"Be careful," as you would say with the fence. I have a friend who got in a dispute because she put the fence up backward. I've never been in a dispute with a neighbor, but I am the roommate from Hades. I'm the one who unlocks the door too loudly, runs the bathwater too loudly, walks too loudly, has to go to the bathroom right before somebody else needs it, etc., etc., etc. Then, there's the real bad stuff like getting hair dye in the tub that never comes out and trying to break into the house to get my spare car key when I locked the other one in the car.

I'm sure people think I'm a bad neighbor too. The drunks with the bellowing dogs probably think I'm a stuck up because I don't go swill beer with them and scream at the football games on the telly. (I actually like football but not all the time, and drinking is not my idea of fun anymore.... besides there's a bunch of pot bellied dudes all drunk and I'm a single woman.... I've already had a couple of suggestive comments as I walk by.)

Then my neighbors on the other side freak out if I burn. Never mind the whole neighborhood has people who burn in their fireplaces.... Geeze she lives in the WRONG place, this area is COLD in the winter. Fireplaces are nice!

So I too am a bad neighbor. Wink

It IS hard to live near others sometimes.

I fear no informatics. My bank still hasn't detected any pattern in my profile and regularly freezes my debit card when I try to buy tickets. How many Moody Blues/Justin Hayward tickets must one buy before a pattern is detected?

Next, I have a big picture of Justin sent from my friend on the desktop. So, Microsoft asks me if I'm bored with my desktop design. No words.

"King and Queen" was a protest song about Vietnam yes. Justin said that somewhere in an interview.

It's an odd thing to think back to how Vietnam started for America... we went in with International troops under President Kennedy, defending French Catholics on copra plantations from the Buddhist north Vietnamese, who were trying to unify their country with weapons from Communist China. Shell oil was also quite active in Vietnam prior to the fall of Saigon.

Pretty soon all the other countries pulled out of the UN coalition except for America. Kennedy was about to pull out as well and let nature take it's course, when President Key in Vietnam was assassinated, and a week later, Kennedy was assassinated.

LBJ finished out Kennedy's term, then ran against a dude named Barry Goldwater (from Arizona) Barry said he would end the Vietnam conflict by bombing the Ho Chi Mihn trail and Hanoi (make a parking lot out of it I think was the exact quote) LBJ countered with a promise of leaving Vietnam and said (a direct quote) "Let Asian boys fight Asian wars"

Two weeks after LBJ won by a landslide, he escalated, sent in MORE troops to Vietnam, and didn't allow the generals to run the war the way it should have been run. Lady Bird was a major stockholder in Brown and Root, the major construction company that built run ways and military facilities in Vietnam for our war effort. The rest is history. Nixon's problem was he didn't wind down the war quick enough, and he was stupid enough to let his campaign managers do breaking and entering.

When our troops pulled out of Vietnam, many great crimes occurred. The first was we abandoned our military working dogs, as excess baggage. They all died far from home and probably quite cruelly, never knowing why their human masters abandoned them. The second great crime was when the evacuees got on board the USS Midway, they were searched of course, for weapons, etc. Many many of them were carrying large loads of heroin, as their "investment" to start a new life. They also were carrying jewelry and gold, which they had looted from their falling country. The military had to give them back the gold and jewels, but confiscated the drugs. My Ex was part of that, and he had very little to say good about the evacuees, many of them were black marketeers/gangsters whom the Viet Cong would have executed had they caught them. Many Vietnamese citizens who remained welcomed their Buddhist liberators, quite tired of American meddling I suspect.

The rest is history. So all the "anti war" stuff should be laid at LBJs feet IMHO. A very sad chapter of American history, and too often misinterpreted or glossed over.

I'm in awe of your memory. I was never any good at history, or human affairs of any sort. I could never motivate myself to remember who was killing whom, as the only reason I ever believed was, "All wars are economic." The extent of my memory of history is Justin saying "Question" was about Vietnam.

All conflicts are machinations to sway cash flow to some crook's pocket somewhere. That's the big over all game of politics. Once in a while I think we do get a leader who truly has the welfare of citizens at heart. But they are few and far between.

Present conflicts with Russia and North Korea (like Viet Nam was) are being driven by low self esteem on the parts of their leaders (justifying their horrifying weapons) some "playing the victim" to justify their bad behavior. Japan used the same stupid justification for their attack on Pearl Harbor. I won't discuss what part of their anatomy is undersized, because you ARE a lady, leslee. But I'm not, and it's true.

I am just astounded by modern politics and the money wasted by investigations and accusations over "Russian collaboration" between Trump, Hillary, the Russians. Good heavens, if our president and their president could just sit down to a cup of tea, there would be no more conflict. What a concept.

It's all a game. Most of the threats are hollow I have the feeling. Propaganda stinks, and covers up bad management and theft. It's that simple. Go read Atlas Shrugged, take two aspirin and call me in the morning.

This is what ALL politics leads to if we are not careful and do not listen to each other. My own ancestry trails back through this sort of thing, solidiers from St. Petersburg invading Germany, long before there were airplanes. It's difficult to watch (glamerous to the weak minded sadly), but I try to listen to the song once in a while. One of Al Stewart's best IMHO
