One of the ladies was walking down the sidewalk. The other was in a YouTube opera thingie where the one who looked like you was behind the singing star, who was somewhat of a Marie Antoinette as far as overdoing it goes. The one who looked like you was behind her, trying to comfort her. It was OK at first, but the song was way too long and it got old about 1/6 of the way through. It was so bad, I am not inspired to find it for you.
I'm pretty generic... my son looks just like me (male version of course...), and his friends all described him as a "blender"............ you never remember his face LOL. In the movie *Fame* they described my type as "Irish Jewish Paranoid" and that's about right.
Basic Scots. I mean, if you believe in genealogy, Ewan McGregor is a super distant cousin of mine.
Scariest thing ever was someone telling me I sounded like Dore the fish in *Finding Nemo* She has a memory as long as a minute, literally. Then others told me I looked and acted like Roseanne's sister in some show I never watched... never was sure if it was flattering or not. I guess I make a good back up or filler in the background...
OK went over and actually got a few laughs out of the old Roseanne show on youtube. I don't feel insulted now. I'm much nicer than her tho. I always liked John Goodman.
I can't find that video now. I can't remember the composer. She was a pretty girl, and she could have been you for all I could see. But again, keeping that look of pity on her face for the duration of the song exceeded my capacity for suspension of disbelief. On her, the look was pity. On you, it is the look I get when I say something unbelievably stupid.
I'm going deaf. I can't hear myself. Sorry. I didn't realize I was so loud. Eek. I didn't mean to yell. Sorry again, but thanks for telling me.
AAAAAANNNNNNNNGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
No. I don't want to be pitiful. I find a swift kick to the teeth is more instructive than booboo faces. An explanation of why what I am doing is wrong is the best.
I remember when I was a kid and somebody showed me how cool it was to step on a cherry. Oh, how I loved it. I stepped on every cherry on the grocery store floor. And that wasn't enough, so I started taking them off the grocery display and stepping on them. The grocer (think little, fat, Italian man) came out from behind the door and screamed with a broken heart about how we were making a horrible mess for somebody to clean up. I saw his pain and stopped. It wasn't until years later that I thought about how wasteful I was being of others' property without compensation. Had the grocer set me up with a therapist to see what forms of nurturing I lacked, you'd probably be paying for my food, housing, meds, and wraparound services to this day.
Back on topic.... I feel like Graeme waiting for eggs to hatch (one wag commented "sit on them, Gray!") but I would very much love to know all about the Justin solo tour allegedly coming up. It's going to be an early winter methinks, and not at all conducive to travel.......
Speaking of sisters..... remembering that men are dogs, but dogs make better pets... well do they?
Back on ORIGINAL topic... concern about anemic ticket sales. I emailed the venue in Danbury with my concern. The reply was that they were not terribly worried. Being an outdoor venue late surges in ticket buying apparently is the norm. Indeed, when I visited the ticket sales site I saw that since my last visit a large quantity of seats had been purchased. It is still three weeks until this show so hopefully there will be a good crowd. Now just to hope for good weather. Last time we went there it rained buckets!
heheh nice to hear from you! yes agreed I think people are making too much out of the ticket sales. People have been saying "they're winding down!" since I first got into the fan thing in 1991. Here we still are. Summer is like that, yes many people show up on the spur of the moment. Likewise, I was shocked we had three days of horrible downpours here, in the middle of July, and it was COLD too. I was forced up on the roof to clean the gutters.
Nicest way to be prepared for downpours at concerts, take a large trash bag (clean one of course) and fold it tightly, tuck it about yourself somewhere. If it rains whip it out, and poke holes in it for head and legs. Voila, a rain poncho. This trick also works for water landings or sudden snow storms, if you crawl into a bag, it will retain body heat.
Thought you'd enjoy the crack about the dogs.........
" poke holes in it for head and legs "??? Head and LEGS? How does that work? Am guessing that meant to read "head and arms". Anyway I had purchased a couple of those disposable plastic ponchos at a store before going. Came in handy. Ours were clear but a good number of folks had bright yellow ones. Visual pollution at its finest.
I think I resent the remark about " remembering that men are dogs " but I get the point. Dogs are easier to train.
eheheh well women are cats!
YEAH you caught me at my finest, half asleep and making up my own idioms. "Head and arms"............ but I would enjoy watching someone try to do that too! I guess I still had "dog" on my mind. Our family enjoyed 100 lb dogs in the living room as opposed to 100 ton elephants. Dogs take up a lot of thought around here.
I learned the trash bag trick for survival in air crew training school. I'm so paranoid that even now, when I fly over water, I tend to keep a rolled up trash bag in my pocket.
Musher, my dog is really old and stinky, and he doesn't take well to baths. I don't suppose you have any suggestions to make him smell better? It's not just a breath thing, he needs a bath! You seem pretty good with dogs! (we should start a dog thread)
I agree on training men! I was only married for five years*, and thinking back I was pretty lucky, my Ex was if nothing else, a pretty clean dude. (Bath time was fun time at our house!!! ) Some men NEED women around to nag and keep them cleaned up, alas. I took care of my Dad for two years as he went steadily down hill, and "old gnarly dog" doesn't even come close. Dad was the sort of "country boy" who thought if you'd been swimming that day, that took care of any bath issues. No mention of soap ......... or exfoliation .... or what you'd been swimming in.
I personally am a real bath monster.... spend an hour there each day with a good book. One of life's simple pleasures.
*PS my Ex nagged worse than any woman thought of, so that's why he's an Ex. We just didn't get along.
Now that the new tour for JH solo has posted tickets in Durham, I'm seeing many people buying them. I wouldn't worry too much about MB sales, Tom. The production manager who books their tour (via promoters of venues) needs to rethink the logistics (i.e. city to city) to make the tour more plausible for the fans. Hopscotching all over the place in the late summer tour is NOT conducive to fans traveling unless they are extreme diehards - and there are some. - but for most, is undo-able. A well-formatted city to city venue would have been more in their favor. IMHO
Yes, Lunazure. A 'smelly dog' thread would be appreciated by smelly dog owners and not on a thread about tours.
MUSHER SCORES BIG! My tickets for Danbury arrived today. I was expecting good seats but certainly did not expect FIRST ROW DEAD CENTER!!! Guess I owe CT Public Broadcasting big time. Most likely would not have done that well if I had ordered a vip package thru MBT. Outdoor venue, now just need to pray for good weather.
