Thanks I needed that. It sounds softer than the last time I watched a video. Like the mute pedal of the piano is on.

I'm covered up in deadlines, but here's a group for whom I had to write a review - too cool not to share:

HI MBT!!!! Gosh seriously it's nice to see you... sprinkle all you want! Nuthin' but good vibes here at this moment!

You know me and my splashing Wink is that actually Johnny Depp doing a bit of twinkle-toes? A nice little dance piece, yes (thank you). I used to dance like that, long long ago. Alas I don't have the endurance for a career of it.

I always start feeling melancholy right around this time of year, and love this video.. Splash, mermaids etc. I always find someplace around the Internet to post it each year. I'm a huge doors freak anyway, we all grew up in Los Angeles, and this is so typical of what the young people were doing there. Camping... and swimming and enjoying the wind. So.... off to do some end of summer chores today, then off to see the total eclipse on Sunday! Hope you too are having a lovely summer. Rock on!

HI LUNAZURE Smile

yes, been a while, hasn't it? I hope things have been going well for you. Smile Not Johnny Dep don't know who it is is but they do a great job. Not sure Johnny would be so coordinated for such anywayWink Is Leslie still onboard? Hope everyone has been doing ok. I live in the deep south so it's natural that I would hate summer.Laugh while I was out in AZ it wasn't too bad--I just feel like a wilted flower here. I may consider moving north of LA (lower AL) say like, Tennessee....while it's humid there too I think the further south one gets the worse it gets...I could be wrong.

I still love the Doors and I used to get this tune mixed up with them when I was a kid, until I learned better...Wink

leslee is around, but I think she is pretty busy with her life off the grid (and on another grid.) She's real involved in politics in Virginia, and they have been sorta active there lately. Summer.... what can I say? The Sun is in Leo too, and won't go out until the Eclipse happens. Hot, hot headed (everywhere) very sad to wake up and see that Barcelona had been attacked, Las Ramblas.... people/tourists just mashed on the ground by a big van. Jerks.... I just got done taking a class in Spanish so I'm feeling vulnerable about it, trying to read the Spanish newspapers.

So thank you for the great songs this morning... I needed a little pep! Haven't even had breakfast yet, guess it's gonna be brunch by this time! LOL and there's always pills to do. It sucks getting old, but yes not gonna give up, get up and dance indeed!!! Then sigh... back to my genealogy (I just got a subscription on Ancestry.com and I'm making a dent in all the notesbooks and stuff my parents left... they were really into it) cleaning the garage that sort of thing. And WOW just realized my sweet little grand daughter is ONE YEAR OLD TODAY. She is the light of my life!!!!

There is no escape from the muggy heat in the South unless you move to the west coast. We used to vacation in Oklahoma in the summer, and it was always hot, muggy... so that "zone of sweat" extends quite a ways to the north from where you are.

OK back to the subject. I love this one. Should be my theme song.

And here's another one for anyone feeling hot headed anywhere. Had to put it up on my other newsgroup last night, people were getting so ornery.

Oh my that is too intense... nice tho, I like the Strawbs. My grandson really likes orange leaves, he was born Oct 15 (darn near on Justin's birthday.) He's a fall kind of guy. I am hearing nothing right now.... just got home from Oregon and I'm feeling rather fragile right now. The eclipse was really special, that's the first time I've seen a total eclipse. Looked like the cover of a rock album... dark star with this flaming white halo around it. This song will do nicely for how I feel right now.... listened to it on the road, wonderful traveling song.

BTW sure glad I gave up weed, if I had been stoned looking at that eclipse, I might have had a heart attack!!! WOW.

That is a good traveling tune...I agree.

I always have fun with this one --reminds me of those Hobbits at the Green Dragon 😉

OH that was wonderful! Thanks for the post! Yes I got a big kick out of Merry and Pippin in the movie, they being Irish and Scots.... right now I'm doing all this Scots genealogy and yea gads, it goes back and back and back (to 1325 or so right now) we fought with King Robert and his bunch, some died in battle, they were "Laird of Lag" and such. Scots and Irish is always good.

I wish you were doing the Cruise upcoming, they have a lot of "Irish" music on this cruise, and I love that sort of thing. Gotta dash maybe more later.

I'd be likely to meet up with you on dry land. ( I'm sure it would be a hoot. 🙂 ) That way, I can control where and whence I go. That occurred to me with the first MB floating tour and I was considering a ticket for the show. Then my enthusiasm waned as I thought the scenario out. While I am not opposed to seeing the Moodies themselves perform, one thing I won't willingly subject myself to is confinement under the control of anyone else. Being on a boat will restrict that decision making and I'll have none of that....I'm too minded towards unbridled movement at my own will....when I'm ready to get up to leave that is what I'm accustomed to.
I have only myself looking out for me and that isn't going to change until I am outta here. 🙂

I hope you have fun tho....
Ever hear of Leo Caffrey? My aunt Lois used to have this Irish tenor album which I now own and she used to get a kick out of this pub song....I always thought it was really funny as well...

SWEET MARIE
(Percy French)

I've a little racing mare called Sweet Marie,
And the temper of a bear has Sweet Marie,
But I backed the mare to win, and on her I've all my tin,
So we'll take a trial spin, Sweet Marie.

CHORUS: Hold your holt, Sweet Marie, if you bolt, Sweet Marie
You'll never win the Galway Plate for me.
Every daisy in the dell ought to know me mighty well,
For at every fence we fell, Sweet Marie.

Oh the colours that I chose for Sweet Marie
Were lavender and rose for Sweet Marie.
Ah. but now no thanks to you, sure I'm quite a different hue,
For I'm only black and blue, Sweet Marie. CHORUS

Oh we're coming up to race, my Sweet Marie,
Runners up and to your place my Sweet Marie.
Will you stop your waltzing round or we'll both be on the ground
And we never will be found, Sweet Marie. CHORUS

Oh we're coming up to race my Sweet Marie,
I have backed you for a place, my Sweet Marie,
Oh we barely hit the dawn, I fell off and you went on.
Now my money is all gone, Sweet Marie.

FINAL CHORUS: Hold your holt, Sweet Marie, pass the colt, Sweet Marie.
You've gone and lost the Galway Plate for me.
You're a stayer too, I find, but you're not the proper kind,
For you stay too far behind, Sweet Marie.

Hehehe that was cute! No hidden bread crumbs I hope! Wink

I was just watching a movie shot in Ireland, and was in the mood for that! In fact I sorta like the theme for the movie... went looking for it but could only find the trailer. It's quite enjoyable, I've been sorting files and watching at the same time. I'd say about half of it was filmed in Ireland. One day hopefully I'll find more time to go back and visited... for a week or something. Lovely place Ireland. Maybe I should move there and live in poverty and do nothing but write.

looks interesting, there's a scarlett every where you turn these days 😉
I imagine sweet marie was raised on sugarcane and would most likely turn her sassy little horses's rear to the front at the bread crumbs Laugh kinda wish I had one of her for a pet-would suit my own character, but would be expensive, no doubt...

I love the music of Carole King but her VOICE to me, personally, as been and still is annoying. I used to draw out these scenarios in my imagination where in I would be sitting in the wings waiting for her to come out to the mike. As she approached it I would be approaching from the opposite direction. When we met, I would smile at her, but in a very low voice where the audience could not hear me, I would say, "Let Carly Simon sing the songs. You just sit down and play the piano. Please." She was GREAT at that instrument!

Tapestry is my favorite of her accomplishments-very artistic lyrics. So Far Away and Jazzman is next....now she could sing those three VERY nicely....

Both wonderful offerings. I like Carole King's voice, it's very southern. We all have different taste of course. And yes livestock is expensive to care for. They belong in Ireland, where there is unlimited grass.

I was just picking through the muddled remains of my websight blog.... found a link I didn't even watch this year... too busy! Anyway these eagles are super good parents, and are our country's mascots I guess. They live at the National Arboretum in DC. Thankfully they haven't dragged in any dead cats (their usual diet around here in Seattle), but usually they bring a big juicy fish for the kids to eat... fun to watch them on live cam. Music loops and is a little annoying, but it starts out very beautiful.

I enjoyed that (turned way down the volume-ambient music is soothing and effective on very low almost above a whisper--annoying at normal volume-agreed) We don't have the large bird watching luxury in our parts here--but I'll never forget the red Kili Hawk I caught in my grandmother's house many moons ago-probably a young bird as it wasn't any longer than my forearm then....I had spent the night at her house and was woke up by a noise and when I went into the living room my grandmother had a sage brush home made broom that she was pinning the bird to the wall and I caught it after I put on her workgloves ...when I turned it loose (around 7:00 one sparking frozen dew dropped morning) into the air-literally throwing the bird upward--soon as the wings were spread, the sky above the woodlands below my mother's house a hundred yards away was blackened by every bird roosting in the trees at that time--I mean they all left at once! The sky I remember was a deep azure blue with a sparkling single morning star trailing upwards through lacy white and molten gold/pink clouds--I'll never forget that-it was so quiet that moment that I could hear only my breath and thought I heard a clear bell tone hanging on the crisp air-that's about the only big bird close encounters I've had to account for...

It is so fitting that our country's mascot has been designated as the Eagle--I can't imagine any other...

I just sawWe Were Soldiers a few months ago for the first time (I'm always lagging behind with 'what's new' stuff -not sure why, but that's me)....and this hymn left me a little teary eyed ... really beautiful...
