The scraping of the wheel was only partially corrected with duct tape.
So, the inner voice is saying, "You're doomed! You cannot go to any more Justin shows!" I'm trying to ignore it.
Crossing threads, the internal jukebox has been thinking of the lyrics to this:
I put it on, and now, I'm admiring the guitar and vocals, too.
Time for some more music.....
I always liked this one, went with the Costner *Robin Hood* movie (also very good, I need to watch that again) one of the great love songs IMHO.
And this one I hadn't thought of in a long long time, heard it on the radio a few days ago. I found the music many years ago when I still had delusions of becoming a professional dancer, used to listen to a lot of Stravinsky (still have the vinyls) it's a story about a little puppet who is abused very badly.... very Russian. An eternal love triangle, and the poor Petruska looses out. You think it's a children's story, then you get into it and it's very dark and scary. I think NIjinsky did it originally, and the Ballet Russe.
I think Bryan Adams has recorded some of the most romantic lyrics (any qualifier will do).
I'm a classless oaf, so I would only listen to classical music for the melody and harmonies. Any story line would be lost on me. I prefer stories where people don't get hurt or die - although I still want to find out more about Verdi on a metaphysical level. Since it's been years since that interest was sparked, the economists' reply applies: Obvously not.
I think that's why I love ballet music, it's very lyrical, tells a story. I can listen to Petruska and say "Oh there's the charlatan" or "there's the puppet trying to get out of his cage" etc etc. It's so emotional ... very "inner journey" sort of thing, you sorta don't need the pictures, the images form inside.
That's beyond me. I recall as a child playing "Lost in Space" with my brother. We were the directors, and the characters were various marbles. The Jupiter 2 was a box. We ad-libbed the script, and mashed the background music. I recall at one time, my brother shouted, "Don! We're heading into a meteor shower!" and we started singing the happy reunion theme. (I'm also the one who had intergalactic beauty contests with my dolls. I recall the Street Sweeper from Mars: She had two fluff-ball Barbie heads on her feet and two with long hair on her hands.) No, I would not be the one to know if the puppet is inside or outside his box.

And this one always conjures imagery of the Moody Blues Christmas party I attended:
"Foolish Love" always conjured up a guy in denial about his bad marriage... you can't always control who you fall in love with. So you stayed married to a foolish mistake, because it's "safe".... no danger, no doubt. I guess it means something different to all of us. Not my favorite, especially as I ditched my "foolish love" and in retrospect, glad I did even if I live a tenuous and solitary existence compared to fighting with a disagreeable spouse. I'm free to do as I wish.
I do love the images of your alien Barbies. I guess I was boring and normal, I just made clothing for them, early design work. Usually it came out looking pretty terrible. I didn't have enough dolls to tear their heads off and use for Dr. Moreau experiments. All my dolls had personalities, and I didn't want to destroy my friends! In fact I still have my three childhood Barbies (Ken and her pal Midge)
I guess that was boring. Sorry.
I never cared much for this song, but searching the lyrics for a clever pun, methought, hey, this is kind of nice:
The blonde in the slinky dress was over trained (breathy and dramatic) and the piano player in love with themselves. Dang I'm a stuck up, especially as I can't seem to sing without a good slug of booze or something. I think I'll go back to that Nina Simone tribute at the RRHOF, she had a fantastic voice. Not the screaming one.
New interview with Justin over on MBA. He seems to be eating lunch at the same time he's talking. That's a new twist for him!
I'm listening to the city council meeting remotely. I went to the meeting, in my role as Miss Reporter, but the people who wish to feed us the false dichotomy that one is either systemically racist or properly accused of being that way to overcome one's systemic racism, were getting on my nerves. They decided to filibuster city council until council acceded and granted them the transparency they demand from the police department. (Sure. Give Mr. Stalker my address.) So, about a dozen began doing stuff like providing a directory of people or reading from Kurt Vonnegut.
I decided I had a higher and better use and split. Four hours later, the city is finally getting around to the public hearing on its budget, which has only increased 25% in the last four years.
