I'm looking for another song. There are too many distractions here for me to dredge it from my memory banks right now, but I recalled it was a hit the same time this song was. I had only heard this song by another group, but this was quite cool, the way her voice worked with the song:

Ooh. YouTube scored another hit with what they automatically queued up next:

I always liked "How can I be sure" ... it was quite popular.

Agreed... Morrison and the Doors were just an LA band, and I love them because I grew up then and there myself. I think generally young people are attracted to extreme habits and rebellion... I wish Jim HAD made it... in later years the other band members realized (as they matured... and when they were working with him too) he had a terrible substance abuse problem. I didn't realize it was so bad until I read Densmore's book. They were very young and those were mad times.

You wouldn't have recognized me in the 70s, I was much weirder back then. Like I say, it's youth and the times. Morrison had a lot more to say, if he could have just hung on a bit longer.

Young people who idolize him have no clue what was going on then. I read Densmore's book and I could smell and feel Venice Beach, literally. Well, San Pedro which was a bit to the south. I spent a few weekends there as a kid.

Watching this movie right now. Makes me laugh... and I love the sets and music. Hotel Del!!!

Just flashing back to this song.... we did it....I saw the production from behind as I was singing high tenor (2nd soprano) it was really pretty, we worked hard on that one getting the blends right on the voices. Anyway the girl who got the solo on it was barefoot in a leather vest with fringe and super short skirt and long straight blonde hair. Did this dance, and we turned on a mirror ball for it too. I'd forgotten the movie... they ruined it by making it 80s in look. We were in tie dye! While she sang, we did this very cool dance to it. Involved a slow fall to the floor and a roll, I remember that.

Wow that was a pretty number

Me likes "Good Morning Starshine." I recall you telling a similar story in Chateau St. Michelle.

I imagined the choirs of angels rejoicing, saying, "We got Retha!"
