Makes me wonder what memorabilia he has kept. Lee and Taralee have really been good about getting stuff out on line. John and Kristian put a lot out in the box set too.... Justin and Graeme either throw it away as they go, or have it stuffed in the storage they all share. Bummer Marie and/or Doremi won't go through it and put it on iine.
So it goes.
I know in the 60s Erin Fleming got a lot of Groucho Marx's stuff out, reproduction posters of things he had saved. I liked Groucho, would like to have met him.
Then, if you do get every detail of something right, which you won't, you will say you defied the odds, but that's on the other thread. If you get anything right, people will lie and declare by majority rule you are wrong. If you are wrong, 100 years later (+/-), you will be seen to have been right. And so you see, I am no good at wondering.
Well, this isn't what I was planning on doing with the stuff, but it was in the car rolling around so I wouldn't forget to pack it because I must go on the road. I must go on the road.
Anyway, the car smelled like the dog's bottom today. (Yeah, leslee, blame it on the dog.) We played, "Everybody out!" in the back seat and treated all with Clorox. I still have the stuff, but the shirts will be laundered. Oh, pooh!
Just realizing how I had lost all that stuff in about 24 hours time, I was telling one of my coworkers about it. She said, "Oh, yeah. I remember you losing your shoe!" Unfortunately, that was a different shoe I lost, up in Chicago, same way. "I had two shoes when I got in the car!" You fans are great to put up with me.
Mine is rolling around in the back of my wee little car. The bags, as I told Martha, really help keep organized in a roadster, and the shirts are helping postpone the laundry date until I get off my "bed rest" in a week or so.
As for the other stuff - I ought not give it to fans, for then they will not buy more. I ought not give it to Goodwill, for somebody will buy it for a couple bucks and post it to the dread Ebay to make a couple bucks and thus depreciate it. It seems the best idea I have to date is to burn it a la Smithian supply and demand. I mean, I don't live in a Camelot with a walk-in fireplace, a minstrel's gallery in the baronial hall, a secret passage up a spiral staircase from a larder in the kitchen to the wardrobe in one of the guest rooms, a studio, and a room I don't even know is there.
What say ye?
The fact that plastic does not rot, and that you put the phrase in quotation marks has me very suspicious about "pick tins." I mean, would I have to serve time if I tried to mail them, and if I deliver them in person, one of us is likely to have to get on a plane with them.
I've heard from more than one source that the band does not like Ebay. If we do our own Mbay, are we being untrue to the spirit of the whatever?
Me have only one boggie, and me keeping it.
