I'm working on the med and fed stuff this week. Yay. I'd rather be un-rusting my physics.

Justin always has the good times at shows I do not attend. Do you suppose the correlation is spurious?

Don't stare so hard????

Not that it's not his karma or anything.....

Rhonda used to suggest we wave rubber chickens at Justin when he's on stage. Just for a little variety. Cool

My taxes are coming along nicely, I got the master spread sheet done today.

Yay, taxes!

I normally don't stare, it's just that when Justin walks in my field of view, my starving eyes can't get their fill. A few other things do it, like light bouncing off a fragile flower or rich cobalt blue glass.

Back to Denver. Snow............ those who are suffering from that arctic blast, stay home and cook something warm. I've been doing this for a couple of days now.... I really need to get back to work.

Went to the dermatologist yesterday... yep I have a couple of big gnarly sores on my face now from getting zapped with the nitrogen. Can't teach little guys looking like a leper.

I hope it snows.

Nope just soggy ol' rain... dog laying around feeling sorry for himself..... me too........

People should hibernate. I'm useless in winter.

I'm sorry about the face. I remember when I was teaching adult ed. I went to a deli in between jobs and caught an awful case of hives. One of my eyes was pretty much swollen shut. It looked so awful, I considered calling in sick, which thing I'd never done. (I say if I'm well enough to get there, I'm well enough to be there, and I'd rather be working than lying in bed with nothing to do but think about my misery.) This was ugly ten times over. Anyway, after the fact, I knew which students "loved" me. One, a mischievous genius, said, "You looked so funny that day!" Another, a girl with an attitude who was always looking for trouble said, "I didn't notice anything different." Which student do you think won my heart?

heheeh the little dahlin's ... I had first grade today and cancelled, I looked pretty scary. Egad I wonder what you were allergic too. My grandson did the same thing with peanut butter, pretty scary.

It's healing, thankfully. A little time off won't hurt me, and I'm getting things done that needed doing.

I don't know what does it. However, it always comes on after eating deli food that creates the taste of liver sausage, when it shouldn't.

I thank the folks at the Chinese restaurant around the corner for the minimal amount of scarring on my face - something in their chicken sauce and a special herbal brew of undisclosed items. Eek!

Then again, the first hives incident was around the same time I dropped a clothes iron - turned on - on my leg. Some students at that school thought it was a cool tattoo. The worst part of that incident was when I elevated my foot and the little boy of my landlords, too little to know any better, curiously stuck his finger in the wound. Thirdly, while working at that school, I gave myself a hernia lifting boxes of books. I didn't know what happened, so I was in the storage closet where we keep the books, with my skirt up around my neck, when another teacher walked in, politely excused himself, and quietly walked out. I'm a fool, and I've got the scars to prove it. Today,

I just have one skinned knee from taking a spill with the dog, and the leg below is scratched from thorns. It doesn't bother me until the Evo licks it. I don't mind. Not everybody gets to go romping through mud twice a day. Today, we were busting ice over an inch thick on puddles. I love the glassy sound of flying ice as it shatters. After the recent flooding, a lot of the greenways were covered in silt. I love silt. We'd go on silt bars, which have washed away now. I'd sink halfway up my calves, but Evo was too wise to follow. I'd get in so deep I'd have to crawl out. In shallower areas, since nobody else was around, I would sing, "De ankow serapeeze!" (DCDCDA) That's Evo for "The ankle therapy!" In places less deep, I would try to walk like a Barbizon with Evo pulling. I shared my love of silt with Evo's trainer. He asked me to bring him some, so I gave him a poo bag. He liked it so much he forgot to pick up his paycheck. Somebody else must have liked it, too; one of the signs on the greenway was covered, as if somebody finger-painted it with silt. Another time, a man came with two kids who were mucking it up. Afterward, I thought I should have gotten to know these kindred spirits better.

Can't say mud does much for me, other than it feels so good when I scrape it off and do the laundry. There are those who will finger paint with ANYTHING (literally) I do enjoy looking for bird tracks in silt and snow. The barking dogs on either side of us are gone (in one case, to doggie Heaven, he outlived two of my dogs) so Micco doesn't come in dragging mud anymore, from running and barking. What a relief!

DCDCDA-- open tuning, right? (will there be a quiz later?)

I don't care how you tune your guitar, those are just the notes, and they're all in the octave immediately above middle C, so that A is so obnoxious it's endearing when sung in baby talk. That is why the tune was so catchy. You can even sing it in another key, just be sure to sing it.

We were boot-deep in snow today. I haven't packed snow in my boot fur since I was a child, and I rather hoped I"d left that behind. So, as soon as the snow was mostly dried out of the wraps, it was time to walk the Evo again. It hasn't been nearly so cold as it was when we went to the auto shop. It's quite all right, and I am lucky to have selected the warmest clothes I have for the duration of this snowboundedness. I even have provisions, and it looks like we won't lose electricity.

I slept at the other office last night. They have a cool, worn, maroon brocade pillow with only two tassels left. I dream about it when I sleep at this office. The "other" office is the place where my left brain seems to repair. Only last night, the stalker kept pushing his way into the dreams. I woke up and my magic pillow was on the floor. It was 5:48. I knew I had to beat the snow, but I prayed, "Please let me go back to bed!" because I couldn't move. I slept another 45 minutes, allowing about 6 inches of snow to accumulate. I made it to work, having driven all the way in second gear. The main roads weren't that bad, but when I was almost here, my engine started sending off poofs of smoke. Since I've been at work today, about as much again has accumulated on the car. Why talk about the weather when we have the weather channel?

I liked looking at the tracks in the silt, too. It looked like raccoons frequented the silt bar. There were several deer tracks and bird tracks from a dog with bear-sized claws. . . . Claws!

Enough of my histrionic narcissism. Let's talk about something else.

I bet there's snow in Denver too.

OK I went in and cleaned off my piano (I've been using it to stack DVDs on) and it seems a little bird warble. Nothing metaphysical came to me, but I did try it out. I do love my piano, maybe I'll work this weekend to clear a good path to it.

Here's my music doodle and see if you can find it, it's Justin. EEEEEFG FDD (and it's in Dmin) that little tune stuck in my head sometime during my Sonoma college years (1975/6) and I didn't find it again until I became a Justin fanatic. Actually it's in two of his songs. The second song it goes CCCCA CDEDC (Key of C) but it's the same doodle almost.

I enjoy weather talk when it's about snow. Keep a sharp eye peeled for snow thunder now!

All is peaceful here.... the night is quasi balmy, nice bright full moon, the spring fog is coming on, the dog can still walk (he's quite dramatic and lays around depressed) and when I threw his swill into him he picked out the hot dogs and ignored the kibble. Went back to laying there looking sad. I guess I had better feed myself, my head is starting to hurt.

There was this manic depressive robot in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. My dog reminds me of him....

Oh, you have me stumped. I'm not that good with music, but it's a good excuse to haul up every piece of Moodies music while I'm snowbound.

No, really. I can't place the chords. P.S. When you say the tune is written in Dm, does that mean I naturalize the F's on the chords or not? (I'm not all that much into reading guitar tabs, so I don't know the conventions.) Either way, I don't recognize the parts.

Just play the notes. All white notes (yes naturals) I didn't give you a time signature so it's a puzzle Wink

D min is all naturals, D-F-A

Say this would make a good game, eh? Laugh

Except that I'd always lose. To nitpick, a time signature would be of no assistance.

I am not necessarily the worst in the world at this. I recall in Chichester, in a music appreciation segment, nobody in the room could identify:

GAGEGAGE.

"'Twilight Zone?'" You'll guess easily, and then I'll give you more information about the situation to show how much denser this shows I am. We couldn't even guess it with the next eight notes. Those are just notes, not chords.

This reminds me of when our algebra teacher, who was always giving us extra-credit opportunities, once asked what the only word in the English language with three consecutive double consonants was. He egged us on to guess, but we were all smart enough to see we weren't finding anything with more than two double consonants.

I do note "Just a Game" has a lot of CDE, or at least DE action, but I don't see the prolonged C's. Too bad I scared everybody away. I'd be getting whooped at this game.

OK. You exposed me. I'm really a vampire and a poser. How dare I pretend to adore somebody when I can't even recognize the tabs to their songs. I bet the whole world is laughing at me. I'm such a sicko-psycho.

Sorry it was a joke..... be good now. No one's a vampire. BUT one should definitely bring one's own energy to the show, not suck off others, unless it is an equal and healthy exchange. That goes for fans and band both.

Just a bit of a peeve with me.
