I reached the dream state last night, and guess who was there? I had about four chances to talk to him or otherwise show signs of hospitality, but was too petrified or stupid or something to so much as say hello. Well, it was nice just having Mr. Justin around, even if I was a jerk; but the weird part is whenever I get a flashback from the dream, I also hear Gwen Stefani singing "Underneath It All."

Please don't psychoanalyze this. It was my first good sleep in a long time - besides snoring at the dentists' office ...

I may get to sleep in tomorrow. We're under a flood warning, and the earth was already soft and soaked when I was walking The EVO! It was a beautiful evening, rapidly switching from storm to sun. When the sun came out, everything was green and sparkly. We chanced upon an awe-inspiring puddle capped with pollen paisley. The design was about 2' x 3', and each paisley was about 1.5 inches long and evenly distributed. Then, The EVO! started sucking the pollen topping ever so slightly her way as she took a drink. Other puddles had very obvious pollen shorelines. I'm happy to get it out of the air.

I want to post videos of songs that occur to me. Then I watch them. It makes me grateful the Moodies did their vids in good taste.

Nope no analyst here tonight.

I think it was a Madonna song I looked up and it was one of the raunchiest things I'd ever seen. Good song too. It was art, but not my cup of tea.

I've read most of the Outlander books, and have embarked on the television series now. Man some of that is really VILE.... she put in the vicious and pornographic stuff for a reason, to sell copy (alas that is what sells now.... Cry) BUT historically it's accurate.... and also makes a point about how cruelly the English treated the Scots.

The same can be said of the movie Caligula; vile yet historically accurate. I don't know, how vile SHOULD entertainment be??? I don't want to be disturbed by violent images.... but I do love history.

I think I've been dreaming about Scots lately.

Work tomorrow heigh ho to the bath I go...

My next reading assignment is 2 books and one budget. I only get to read public policy and economics, and I think I've read all the good stuff by now. I continue to feel inundated. By the end of the month, I've got 24 business briefs, 36 entertainment briefs, 2 book reviews, 2 meeting reviews, a budget summary, 4-8 articles from Northie, plus the boss' accounting, fixing meals every 2 hours, walking the dog 2 hours a day, walking 4 hours one day to and from the mechanic. Nothing is getting done, and I'm letting my work be my master. I must remind myself how normal people do so much more than this every day. My friends ask why I can't find the time to practice piano or paint ....

Work!

And of course I spend all my time fighting with an itinerary and blowing off steam on social media.

Let's try this. I will post something, and then people I've scared off this site can answer it if they want and then say why it is toxic. I don't expect anybody to play with me, but I was wondering today why I could not recall ever seeing an image of heaven with pine trees. Even Asgard, where one might expect them, looks deforested.

Just wondering ...

You haven't seen enough Thor movies. Asgard has a lot of pine trees.

Is this some metaphor about Evergreens?

I was walking The EVO! a couple days ago in the morning, between microbursts. The world was wet and sunny, and the evergreens were very beautiful. As I enjoyed the scenery, as lovely as it all was, I got to thinking it did not look like any portrayals of paradise I had ever seen. It got me thinking about the neglected status of conifers, associated with cold, Christmas days but overshadowed by their lush, fair-weather deciduous brothers.

Then, today whilst compiling A&E briefs, I came across Ottorino Respighi's 'Pines of Rome,' a rare tribute to conifers. Personally, I'm in love with palm trees, but I definitely believe there will be a spot for Norfolk pines in heaven. We've got some beautiful, bushy pines around here that would probably supplement a heavenly landscape, but I don't know their name. They're not loblollies.

As I write this, I realize cypress trees are also conifers, and they frequently feature in heavenly scenes. Thanks for indulging me, y'all, as I work through my issues here.

Metaphor? Our guitars evergreen, forever blue:

That song never ceases to perk me up.

There was also an evergreen in the DOFP "movie" with this latest show. I know right where it is, 10 points if you tore your eyes off Justin long enough to see the video...

Mr. Blue was a Christian hippy who lived in a cardboard box on top of a skyscraper. It's in a book.

"Pines of Rome" is wonderful, have you seen the Fantasia 2000 video of it with the flying whales? Really fun. It has a companion piece called "Fountains of Rome" I hear marching Roman soldiers in Pines of Rome myself.... here's just the final movement. I would like to have seen this one in IMAX.... love that "alpha strike" of whales. Laugh

I thought of the Vatican when they mentioned Rome, not of soldiers marching; but to some historians there is little difference.

Keep your points. Justin is just too good to be true.

Back on subject, I had a nice dream last night, only because Justin was in it, but I had a bad seat, and the audience and band were very unresponsive to anything. The band was going through the motions, and the audience, unless I was jetlagging it to fiercely, did not even clap to request an encore. The band just left the stage. I recall Justin was very handsome in black slacks and a white shirt, but he was very far away. I went with some to greet the band at the stage door should they appear. One guy had an album for signing, and one girl had a very old article. I wondered if she had written it. I did not see the band come out.

I forgot to mention a huge part of my dream - a fantasy come-true! I was eating an entire, enormous tray of tuna noodle casserole, all to myself.

dreamy tone.... tuna casserole. I love Tuna casserole, but alas it does not love me. Lots of cheese and made with cream of mushroom soup......

I just finally got through the movie *Black Panther* whew.... talk about a powerful vision!!! I REALLY liked it. They were a third of the way into the movie before an American even graced the screen, and he turned out to be a British actor (Martin Freeman, who is almost as fun to dream about a tuna casserole) .... really good.

I dreamed I was watching something like a Hallmark movie and one of the characters was going to have a change of heart and turn into this Justinesque dude - mild-mannered, same hair, flowered shirt. Commercial breaks kept delaying the last ten minutes of the show when it was supposed to happen.

I was also trying to follow a path painted on the floor of a factory, with a carload of other people. Then, the symbols ran out and we didn't know where they went. Everybody packed up and went back in the car, but since I was carrying the Christmas tree, I said I'd walk back to the motel.

Hmmm first part, obvious... you dreamed about your favorite Kore. (In Greek drama, this is "the perfect man") That's easy.

Second, flash back to the evergreen pines..... you are willing to sacrifice because you are carrying the load.

I had a dream something I valued had been set loose by another creature (human? Dog?) and I grabbed at it, it floated further out into the stream, so I swam after it (that would be me) until I realized it was a darn big dangerous swift deep river, and I had to let it go, let it float on downstream into nothingness (lost).... and barely got back to shore, swimming like a madman. Came pretty much back to the same place I had been.

(the interpretation on that is pretty obvious too, just thought I'd share)

I'm symbol-impaired, but I enjoy pretentious folly:

Hold on, don't let go
+ I try to catch the thought, it slips right through my hands
+ Rain on the river, turns the torrent to a flood, swim or you'll never rise above
+ Still waters run so deep
+ I wanna go deep
+ Oh, running water
+ Don't leave me driftwood, on the shore
+ And when we tread the path no longer, the circle is complete

P.S. Our essay-writing friends shall likely be more voracious at posting starting now. I just returned from the drug store and bought the first non-vitamin drugs I recall buying since college, when I was cutting my wisdom teeth. Yes, this is not leslee writing, the Vix Formula 44 has assumed control.

See how it spun that anachronism? I did not buy the cough medicine after I returned from the store but whilst I was there - then again, I don't know what I'm writing. The Vix Formula 44 is very much in love with Justin Hayward, though - in a good way.

That was good on catching the pine tree symbol, though. They aren't in heaven, and I was clinging to it ... Not good.

I have many pines here and sometimes I think this IS heaven.... I live in a very nice place.

There was nothing "deep" about my swim in the river. It was just a river, and "deep" isn't my thing in murky waters. I like a nice clear clean swimming spot before I'll dive deep..... and once down I can hold my breath a long long time.... they were not still waters either.

I must improve my reading skills as well as my writing skills. Okay. Try this. The dream is saying the water is stronger than you.

This is my vision today. I am watching mountains appear and disappear. Really. Storm clouds and fog change the lovely view across the valley every time I look up. The close part is sunny a lot of the time, which makes a splendid contrast with the deep gray, stormy sky. Yum. I love leaves when they are young and delicate, before they get bug-eaten and hairy.

I took a nap this afternoon and tried to sleep off some of the fever. I dreamed of two ibexes and a lot of office work - logistics planning or accounting, I can't remember.
