I haven't thought about it enough to condense my thoughts into less than a book.

And use it as human repellant? Look what I've done to this web site. You're the only one who talks to me.

Boo hoo.

I know. I was considering just never writing anything in the Moody world ever again. While some might cheer, think of the consequences. We would be left with nothing but "I think so too" and "it was nice meeting you" over on TER, and of course Taran's very worthy research. No exchange of ideas between fans. There is so little now, the newsgroups are pitiful compared to 10 years ago. Or we will have nothing but Justin photo wallpaper on the news sites. (While I think he's lovely to look at, that's not exactly the point here).

What is happening??

But the flip side is, when more people interact, suddenly there is jealousy and fighting, and competition.

I mean I like writing, but I feel like a voice echoing in an empty room. I was also upset about the poor turn out at Yoshi's, I wonder what happened there, bad promo? People too stoned to show up? Pseudo intellectuals who don't know Moody music and have no clue whom Mike Dawes is?

leslee we might go on strike. Let's consider it. We can email if you want to chat, but let's consider just dropping posting on this site. You can post on my blog site if you want, but get your own log on (not difficult).

Don't goooooooooooooooooooo!

I'm going to keep on doing my thing until the webmaster shuts me down. In all the years of my evil posts here, I have not heard one word from him/her/it about me needing to tone it down or lay off that topic. Well, there was this one:

Dear leslee:

Your incessant talk of molecules is making Justin cry. Furthermore, your excessive use of certain adjectives, like "beautiful," informs us of an unstable personality of limited vocabulary. This missive constitutes a legal, notarized restraining order issued by the Sheriff of Buncombe County to bring your subject matter and English skills up to the third-grade level, and stop picking on Justin, else you will be banned from the site with no further notice.

Regards,
webmaster

On this __________day of _____________________________, 20______, Before me, the undersigned, a Notary Public in and for the State, personally appeared ___________________________________, whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument and acknowledged to me that he/she executed the same. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my official seal the day and year in this certificate first-above written.

Long time ago, back in the mists of time, the Moodies were mystical and spiritual. It wasn't anything creepy. Rather, it did for the soul what a chiropractor does for the skeleton. The fans I knew loved the music and the artists, and would speak peaceably about its inspiring illumination. The words spoke of peaceful gardens, longing for love, a better world; and that resonated with good people, and bad people like me trying to be good. When fans spoke, they spoke of heaven and paradise, comforting sights and sounds.

There was some silliness, too. Some of us would never dream of being a fanatic, and yet the band had a certain something that drew us close. We would laugh at ourselves when we would cross the line out of self-parody or lack of creativity.

I've heard rumors of bad fans, but they remain rumors.

I waited for the buses after shows, I stared too much at Justin, I wore skirts too short - all of that got me busted. Fans let me know I was violating the code of ethics, but I didn't listen. I saw what I perhaps mistakenly appeared to be fans picking on each other. Some didn't dress up enough, some were too dressy. Some were deluded. Some were too fat, others were too thin. Some had all the good seats while others wanted them to rearrange their budgets. Some went over a line gushing about how gorgeous this or that one was. Others went over a line claiming to have occupied more space on Justin's retinas than others claimed possible. Some claimed, true or false, lyrics or songs were written just for them; and others called them nuts.

Then, these weird online scenes would break out where this one would post something innocuous like, "I got a ticket for Scottsdale," and somebody else would snap. "You would say that!" And from that would follow, "Your mother wears army boots (before they were fashionable)." Narry as I could figger, we had some behind the scenes sniping going on. I suppose that is why the PM feature was eliminated from this web site. I must admit, I received some emails about how this one or that was sheer scum to be avoided. Like most people, I just ignored it. Scum can speak for itself.

So, I say let's have a festival with this site. Let's talk about the amazing things we don't discuss elsewhere and make it beautiful until we get shut down.

I don't believe in wasting bandwidth and went back and recycled the last post (which was mine and was trivial). Just think of the historians I'm messing up. Wink

The more I think about it, the more I really liked that nice long "letter" from His Nibs......... very practical and down to earth, again. Just when I think I want nothing more to do with this whole fan thing due to the silliness, I read something he's written, and get interested again.

I know. Like, we're here for the band, and then the band disappears, and we're left with us miserable wretches trying to keep things alive. I do appreciate all you do to keep things rolling here, luna. I can gab, but I'm not gifted in the art. So, here are some of my synthetic thoughts on the interview, as if anything cares except the NSA:

Yay! Justin answered one of my questions. One in 356 ain’t bad, huh? (The question was a request that he answer more questions, and I was only one of 356 people to ask for that.)

On #8: I just remembered talking to an usher at the Fox. He told me the acoustics were superb in there. He wasn’t a physicist, so he couldn’t explain it, but he said a lot of artists really rave about it. But I think Justin was talking about something greater. I remember being totally lost in the music, but I was somewhat turned off by the dirty, sleazy slice of life I experienced wandering the streets. Phoenix had been such a piece of heaven. I’m sorry Justin had a bad day there from some people’s perspective and that I didn’t notice any discomfort on his part for the beauty of the music.

On #24 and #9: He had a chance to tell us what his guitars were thinking, but he blew it. He didn’t say anything about the chair, did he?

On #34: Dear Mr. NSA Man, Tell Justin if his friends like silence most from him, and if he ever wants me to talk, he can give me a call anytime. I’m sure you know how to contact me. Also, could you please tell him I am not Dr. Craig?

On #7: “The Western Sky” was definitely out of this world. It is weird to think how “Forever Autumn” would have the best reception in light of truth and all. Like, hey man, he looked right at me and said I wasn’t there.” Nah. It was a very good arrangement as I recall.

On #2 and #3: I liked the info on how Alan and Julie pulled stuff together. I didn’t realize Alan was so involved with the tour. I’m really fascinated with that kind of thing. I know there is software that could cause it to all be done on a computer, but I like the idea of scoring and building waveforms by ear. If Justin weren’t so all-absorbing, I’d love to pick Alan’s and Julie’s brains.

On #28: Me confoosed, because I don’t know what I’d like to ask.

On #18: I know Justin said never mind, but I want to think some more about what it means for a guitar to be true and powerful.

P.S. I'm sorry about the stolen guitar. That's creepy. I mean, do you stuff it down your pant leg and run with it until you can sell it on e-Bay? Never mind. Some things I do not want to understand. I'm bad enough as-is.

Yeah that was sad about the guitar. I had a sleeping bag stolen that way once.... Tucson was a weird town, and so hot.... it was funky, yes a little dodgy in spots, but the streets were so empty, then here comes this bunch of Red Ghosts.... they were hilarious! And those two nice ladies in the store where we parked. Good people in Tucson, and I bet they were nice backstage too. That town is a dropping off place, and the folks HAVE to be nice to each other! I do remember Mike having a super big grin on his face.... yes the energy was a complete 180 from Phoenix. The theatre was old and classic, and in very good shape, I was impressed.

Those British headmasters are nothing to trifle with! I think they still gave paddlings back in those days. Brrr. Especially in England.

Alan was backstage a bit at the Troubadour.... checking in. He's such a positive dude.... hope he stays with the band for a while. Yes they are ALL skilled musicians. No doubts there.

I liked the story about the ultralight and filming "Silverbird"........... cutting edge for that time period with MTV sort of things.

I lost a purse that way, but I was freeing up my hand to shake Justin's so I'm in no position to complain.

Thanks again, Michelle, wherever you are, for helping me get home that night! I may have mentioned this on the other board. It's a cool story. I was going to meet Justin for the first time backstage in Raleigh. I put my purse down, said, "Bubuh buh buh buh," to Justin. He said, "Thank you for sharing that, Dear," like he couldn't move on to the next person in line fast enough. I didn't care. I had met this super archangel of a person, and I was all a-gaga. But when we shook hands, I got a bad taste in my mouth. Something was wrong. How could it be? Well, I turned around and the purse was gone.

I couldn't make a scene in front of my big hero. How could one act like a damsel in distress in front of the great Justin? I casually looked around for bumps in peoples' clothing, checked the floor several times, wondered if somebody might have accidentally scooped it up in a coat, wondered if I had lost my mind. Finally, I confided my dilemma to a girl with auburn hair. She was just sitting there not caught up in all the band stuff. She said she was the girlfriend of one of the venue's roadies. She said a lot of times people will take the money out of a purse and then throw the purse in a dumpster. We spent the rest of the time looking in trash cans and over fences. When there were no more options, she kindly offered me $10. She said she was saving it for a Father's Day present, but she could see I was going to need it more. I had no other options. My gas tank was on empty and I was a tank of gas away from home. It was 11:00 or so at night. I graciously thanked her for giving me my only option, and do hope her father appreciates her beautiful soul more than he would have any present - even a front row ticket to see the Moodies.

The story gets better. I would gladly blab in characteristic self-absorbed fashion . . .

Well it should teach us all a lesson "Trust in Allah, but tie up your camel" essentially. We all do boneheaded stuff, and should chalk it up to "life's little lessons".......... probably some of us Moody fans could stand to travel a little lighter anyway.

I've never had a purse stolen. Knock on wood, shudder. Speaking of self absorbed but sorta on topic with the veer in conversation, I took my dog to the vet for his shots today, came out $82 poorer. But, while the dog really annoys me, and should have been euthanized for his crimes against humanity (biting.... I've told that story) he IS excellent security around here. We've never been robbed, in my close to 60 years of living with a large snarling dog. So, what cost what price security?

In past years, someone got close enough to Justin's red 335 to put a sticker on it (the outer case thankfully). I guess Justin flipped his wig and chewed on a roadie (as only a Libra can, whew), who was as a result drowning his sorrows in the bar in Vegas and told the whole sad story to a fan (who blabbed). Justin hand carried the Gibson for the next five years as I recall. It wasn't the sticker. It's the fact that things grow legs and walk away. Guitars, purses, children, sleeping bags ... .all can be snatched in the wink of an eye. Constant vigilance.

I obeyed Eagle Rock and watched the trailers from Justin's DVD. I can hear so much more than I heard live. The tracks are separated for better balance, and it sounds very good. The first was very pretty. I didn't remember Justin breaking a string during "Nights." That's a nice analog touch. And now it is time to aggravate luna:

Gush gush.

That said, I find the cover art for the live album interesting. The sky has come through the window. What does it mean?

My thoughts: The western sky is all around you. All you have to do is dream.
