Don't worry, Gwen. The Moodies will start touring in a little over 2 weeks. Maybe you can see a show. If not, I feel your pain.

Winter has been crazy this year -- with temperatures close to zero degrees here!!
However the cooold weather has given me a chance to stay inside and spruce up my place.

And another Moody Blues board has been spruced up, too.

Formerly Higher & Higher and Sitting Comfortably, the board has a new owner and a new name -- Moody Blues Classic Board.

When you have a few minutes, stop by and check out this site. Cool

Where are you, DeeLee? What state? I've gone over to the classic board a few times.......... will check in, thanks for post.

I always have good intentions for the winter and staying indoors, then I get depressed and do nothing. :(

I was so tickled on Christmas Eve, to see the ISS go over..... like a Christmas star.... I mean, what if the first Christmas star was a spaceship??? Think of the implications!!!

What if it was a supernova, light-years away. That would mean God knew millennia of millennia in advance the day and the hour of the First Coming.

well the shock wave that fries us would have gotten here already if we saw the light burst 2000 years ago. Urgh we're both turning to disaster scenarios.

Something good about winter, is when the last snow starts to fall (like it did this morning here, and I hope it doesn't stick!) it sorta falls in your hair as you're tossing bread to the robins.... the silly things came back too early! But it's a very nice morning outside..... I now have an excuse to stay in and obsess on my vacation plans. I WAS going to go grocery shopping and get mushrooms for the gumbo.

Gentlemen get roses for the lady. You get mushrooms for the gumbo.

That's right. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Having said that, I've always been partial to orchids myself, and house plants. My Ex woke up and bought me a cactus once, and then when he got wind of me leaving, finally got me roses. What a twirp. I'll do back flips and obscene things for champagne, but no man has ever figured that out about me. Well, unless you count Justin's solo party on the boat. That was pretty amazing, he got us all champagne. I drank quite a bit (as much as I gracefully could snag), that after swilling three merlots at Gray's poetry reading. Made a complete fool of myself that day, just glad I didn't barf or something. Ugh.

Winter is a good time to cook a lot, nice warm cozy things like gumbo and split pea soup and such. Bean soup is good too. I'm really good with soups. I owe it all to Alice May Brock. Go get her recipe book if you like soups.

leslee it doesn't look good for you guys there... read this link. And the Weather Channel had the cajones to say last year was the "warmest on record".... blblblbbl

We shouldn't be too adversely affected. I feel badly for those to the north. I'd hate to be in this uck with the power lines down. I wish my parents would move somewhere warm.

I need a better fireplace. I've literally been logging out heavy brush around here, and have accumulated quite a woodpile. Get your parents a generator, and make sure it 1) doesn't need to be heaved and yanked on to start and 2) puts out enough wattage to run a freaking heater.

the one I have now is pitiful.

Spring... can't come soon enough.

Since my parents are intent on staying in Michigan, I think I shall get them a crust shift instead.

I'm seeing a dress made out of pizza dough....

Do you want to know the sign for pizza? you hold up two fingers (like the 3 stooges ready to poke out an eye) and make zig zag motions with them. If a Deaf person does that sign, be sure to say YES (that's the "hang loose" Hawaiian sign, only you do it up and down, rather than rocking back and forth)

Hmm. I always wondered what to do with that. At my old job, nobody liked the crust, so we saved it for the boss' dog. One engineer called the crusts "pizza bones." I've always admired good flippers.

Ah indeed. My dog really loves pizza crust too. Alas I've given up pizza. I flip a lot of things at my dog, including scraped out yoghurt cups. He likes those too.

Praise the Lord, I think I have finally shaken off the deep funk I was in. It is still bitterly cold here but the sun is marvelous; why it was still light after 5 pm yesterday! Doing some deep cleaning of the homestead and of my brain too. Actually found an infestation of moth larvae in my potting supplies! My God, what has been going on under my nose this long, hard winter? This is to say nothing of what has been going on in my head.

Getting stoked for the upcoming cruise. I'm going again this year mostly because my Mom wanted to go again so badly. Bought a white dress for "Nights in White Satin" night, then realized it was almost exactly what I would wear if I were to get married again. Oh God, we don't want to do THAT again. But wear the dress? O.K.

I also have a "no pizza" rule going on, as well as no to eating numerous other high-calorie foods that have added to my burgeoning fatness over the winter. Anything I eat though is of tremendous interest to my daughter's little girl cat. I think she likes people food better than cat food. She also hates a cluttered house and will jump up and knock down all of the crap I have piled up everywhere. I get upset but I realize that she is, in her own way, keeping me on task.

Wanted to say too that we have American Robins (different from the European versions, I guess) here year-round. They flock and stay in the woods together. One of my long walks takes me past a couple of springs, and I can watch them bathing (which Robins love to do) and flipping through the fallen leaves and other muck, probably looking for the stray insect or such. I love birds. I think they represent to me the joy that must come from flying and the perspective one gets from being in the air, free.

I love birds too, and watch them avidly, call back to them... . Some years yes we DO have robins year round but not this year.... I didn't notice they were gone until they came back... they are sure digging for worms!

I'm glad you're feeling better. Often it's just a matter of getting enough sleep, or taking multiple vitamins. We had the most lovely sun today, everyone remarked about it, and I sat out sunning myself just a little today. Very nice.

Hi guys! Still a foot of snow on the ground here in CT with temps continually in the single digits overnight to teens and twenties during the day. Saw a pair of robins earlier this week... have no idea what they may be finding to eat!

Two weeks from this evening my favorite lady friend and I will be enjoying the Moodies nearby in Wallingford. My tix arrived yesterday... eleven rows from the stage, dead center. Without paying for a premium package it could not be any better. Can't wait. Last time we were sitting right in front of Norda, This time we should be face to face (as much as eleven rows could be) with Justin. In 2010 at Danbury Ct we were five rows directly in front of John. Have had some pretty good seats I guess. One of my favorite parts of the show in recent years has been watching Gordon during Isn't Life Strange. Puts on quite a show himself.

Take care, all... Spring is coming... I'm sure.

Musher you gotta learn about seat hopping. leslee is very good at it. But it's sounding good isn't it? Alas the Moodies are going to land in some snow methinks, unless the thaw happens soon. They keep saying we might get snow in Seattle this Sunday.... temp is dropping a bit outside here, but it's bright clear and cold and windy....

have fun! Drop by here and give us a report if you have time!
