Chess. Mental chess. Mostly in my own head.............. blblblbbl
I really think you should consider Arizona. Scout around for accounting down there.............. they are also politically attuned. You'd be happy there.
Me, I'm a wobbly and get along with all political groups (by ignoring what I don't like, it goes away eventually). I can't deal with HEAT ptwuie....
That's cool that you play chess in your head. I have enough problems playing against a live person. How do you stay ahead of yourself? Also, I'm impressed that you can keep track of the pieces. I would probably cheat and forget where I left a piece - to the obvious advantage of whichever me I was favoring at that time. It is yet another tribute to your brilliance.
I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, and my general deficiency of talent doesn't help. I feel good morally about being the bottom-of-the-bucket knave, but then I fell guilty about not inventing and creating.
I thought I said I don't like politics. Did you read through a thin veil of something of a Freudian denial? Why does my impression of what my brain is telling me I hate politics when I really do? Maybe I belong in the funny farm. As a general rule, I don't like political discussions, because they're all about control and spin. I don't know how to participate without walking away feeling like I need a bath - the re-baptism type.
HEAT is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.
Back on topic somewhat, I like to listen to music at work with one earpod in and another tuned to the environment. (ARF!) Anyway, I enjoy watching Justin or the guys over on candyrat. Steve Vai and the Scorpions also were entertaining to watch. There were a few other intriguing videos - like Chicago's "Stay the Night," or more recently Remy Zero's "Gramarye."
Other than that, you have all these people uploading tunes and putting up their own photos: Zoom in, zoom out, pan across. It got comically old a long time ago, now I don't know what to think of it. Maybe I should try it. No. Nobody would get my sense of humor.

This cool rolling bubble is all set for samba.
Very pretty! I was just humming that the other day actually.... you've never been to the Med, leslee, but it's such a lovely place, and that song sounds like it looks. And feels. I also love the blending of late 50s and early 60s, this really nice bosa nova band, and this really vapid woman with a bouffant doo to the hair. Now SHE has a voice of an angel, no frills no fuss, she just pops out the lovely vocals and harmonies.... thanks for the post! It's that sort of day here too, and our own ocean is very lovely, the sunlight glittering off it like diamonds.... clear and blue!
I was ooot and aboot today, didn't get the answers I wanted and not quite all the fabric I need (there's a sale on Friday!) but some slight progress made. Anyway I was coming down this stairwell, about six floors, and I'd been humming an old Fred Astaire song for some weird reason (I'm not a huge Astaire fan, but I do like the music of the era) anyway I got the most lovely echos and resonance in that stairwell. Always sing in stairwells. It's a delightful moment in the morning's otherwise drab chores.
I had another really peculiar thing happen today, speaking of prayer as we were on another page. I've been sending out requests to the Great Beyond for a quilt rack, for a while, I would have taken a beat up one and refinished it, wasn't being demanding or anything. They can be pretty expensive. Anyway I drove by someone's trash out on the curb. Yep, there was my rack!!! So I cheered, pulled Strider over, and hiked back.... IT'S IN GREAT SHAPE. Wow. A nice big one too. Thank you to whichever Spirit sent that over. I'm not worthy. But I AM having a very nice day and I hope all readers out there are too. Keep smiling!
This is much better than Fred Astaire!
Astrud has a voice I like and don't like. As I listened to a lot of her this morning, I was imagining she probably sounded to that generation's parents as bad as Kurt Cobain sounded to us. She has no volume! She skips sounds! She has a funny accent! She sings like a retard!
I really love the girls in Brasil 66. I still haven't recovered my voice since Graeme's incessant demands that we get louder. I should probably get something for it. Anyway, I have never heard Graeme sing, but I guarantee I sound worse than he - unless I sing in a Latin language. Then, it sounds pretty good. I was fantasizing today about singing and playing "Mas que Nada."
Hey. The boss is gone. I'm gonna have a sing along with Sergio and pals.
I'm happy on your charmed life. Keep up the good vibes.
I got in a couple rounds before I had to hush, anyway. There is one performance with a guitarist and one with a bassist, and they both sound just the same. The girls don't even have mics. Only Sergio does. I think Sergio is a very cool name. I love the hair from that era, and the lame outfits were very swell, too. Here is one of my favorites from Brasil 66:
I had to stop it, it was starting to sound like *I Dream of Jeannie* reruns. The flutes and such seem to be synthesized, the girls seem to be lip synching and they are wearing wigs. Good voices, whomever was singing.
Is that a gospel channel like I think it is, and those girls are in very short skirts??? Well........................ it's not like the good Lord didn't make our bodies I guess.........
I rather liked ol' Astrud, it's very bistro.
lunazure said The flutes and such seem to be synthesized,
How can you tell? Are you making a funny? Remember, this was recorded back in the day when Mike Pinder was fighting with the mellotron.
lunazure said the girls seem to be lip synching
I thought we had magic technology back then (hushed by the government) that allowed recording without microphones.
lunazure said and they are wearing wigs.
Is that why I can never get my hair to go the way I want it?
lunazure said Good voices, whomever was singing.
The little one is Lani Hall, later Lani Hall Alpert. She is definitely singing on the recording. The other, Karen Philipp did sing with the band, but there is a chance somebody else sang on the audio. I don't know, and I"m too lazy to learn. I do love the voices very much.

It's 60sPG1. I thought you were good at finding my glasses.
lunazure said and those girls are in very short skirts???
I don't mind on occasion seeing somebody dressed more atrociously than me.

Yes. I like her scene.
